In this role, you will:
Data Engineering is a multi-faceted role, where you can have focused or broad set of responsibilities, including:
  • Defining metrics
  • Instrumenting logging
  • Acquiring/ingesting data
  • Architecting & modeling data
  • Transforming data
  • Ensuring data quality, governance, and enablement
  • Alerting, visualization, and reporting
  • Developing at scale and improving efficiency
  • Improving systems, processes, and partnerships
  • Working autonomously and adding perspective to the team
  • Embodying the goals of the business and team
  • Challenging the status quo, and driving progress across teams
  • Taking smart risks
  • Leading forward-thinking projects
  • Mentoring to help grow your teammates

Minimum Qualifications / Your background:
  • Bachelor's / Master's degree (or equivalent work experience) in a STEM field.
  • 8+ Years of Experience in Data Engineering or related fields.
  • Proficiency in Python or other modern programming language development experience.
  • Proficiency in SQL and relational databases experience.
  • Deep understanding of data architecture end-to-end.
  • Working knowledge of basic statistical concepts (e.g. regressions, A/B tests, clustering, probability) and how to apply them to practical questions.
  • Experience working with product analytics.
  • Experience in driving technical initiatives impacting the entire organization.

Additional / Desirable Qualifications:
  • 10+ Years of Experience in Data Engineering or related fields.
  • An understanding of the SaaS business model and data structures.
  • Experience in Enterprise Software product development.

Compensation
At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:
Zone A: $203,300 - $271,100
Zone B: $183,000 - $244,000
Zone C: $168,700 - $225,000
This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
