Role Overview
The Product Development - App team is at the heart of SharkNinja's innovation engine, responsible for delivering breakthrough app experiences from concept to launch. As a Principal Product Developer - App, you will act as a "product CEO" for assigned app platforms, collaborating with engineering, software, UX, quality, and commercial teams to deliver best-in-class consumer experiences. You will be a strategic and technical leader, ensuring our apps are reliable, intuitive, and delight users in every interaction.
Key Responsibilities
  • Drive the development and enhancement of SharkNinja's app portfolio, including ownership of technical requirements, product improvements, and optimizations for connected products.
  • Define, develop, and iterate product specifications for mobile and web apps, balancing consumer needs, market opportunities, and technical feasibility. Partner closely with engineering and software teams to translate consumer insights into robust, scalable solutions.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with product, engineering, UX/UI, and marketing teams to ensure seamless execution from prototype to launch, facilitating technical discussions and resolving roadblocks.
  • Conduct competitive analysis and technical benchmarking of competitor apps, identifying gaps and opportunities for SharkNinja to lead in performance, reliability, and user experience.
  • Partner with QA and Testing to define and manage app-specific validation protocols, driving continuous improvement through data-driven analysis of field performance and consumer feedback.
  • Own technical project timelines, prioritize initiatives, and manage multiple features in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Mentor and influence other product developers and cross-functional partners, elevating product quality and process efficiency across the organization.

Basic Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in app development, software engineering, or a related technical field-preferably with consumer electronics or connected devices.
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline; advanced degree is a plus.
  • Deep understanding of app technologies (mobile/web platforms, connectivity, UX/UI) and a passion for building innovative, consumer-centric products.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven project management skills, with experience leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple concurrent projects.
  • A collaborative, consumer-first mindset and a drive to deliver 5-star experiences.
  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities, embrace transparency, and learn from every iteration

Salary and Other Compensation: The annual salary range for this position is displayed below. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

Pay Range
$158,310-$193,490 USD
