The Principal iOS Engineer is a visionary and technical expert who sets the gold standard for iOS development at Thrive Market.
In this role, you will tackle our most complex challenges, lead critical technical initiatives, and mentor engineers at all levels. This role is pivotal in shaping our app’s architecture, ensuring scalability, and driving innovation to enhance our customer experience. You’ll collaborate across teams to define and execute the technical strategy for our iOS platform.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Define the technical vision for Thrive Market’s iOS app and lead its execution.
- Architect scalable, future-proof solutions to support the app’s growth and evolving needs.
- Lead and mentor iOS engineers, fostering a culture of learning and technical excellence.
- Partner with Product and Design teams to conceptualize and deliver innovative features that delight users.
- Leverage expertise to optimize app performance, reliability, and user experience.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and advocate for their integration where applicable.
- Serve as a key thought leader, driving technical innovation and best practices across the iOS organization.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, with 7+ years of iOS development for high-traffic, consumer-facing applications.
- Extensive experience with Swift, Objective-C, and the iOS ecosystem, including a deep understanding of architecture patterns (MVC, MVVM, etc.).Proven ability to scale iOS applications, optimize performance, and maintain code quality.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with a track record of solving complex technical challenges.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience influencing technical direction at an organizational level.
- Passion for mentoring and developing engineers to achieve their full potential.

- Experience working in e-commerce or subscription-based platforms.
- Exposure to front-end development or cross-functional pods in an agile environment.

JOB INFORMATION:
- Compensation Description - The base salary range for this position is $160,000 - $225,000/Per Year.
- Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and geographic location.
