Position Overview

Autodesk AEC Administration Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Software Developer to join our team, focusing on the Access Management Service which oversees Access Controls (e.g. Roles. Permissions, etc) and Authorization for all Autodesk customers. As a Principal Software Developer, you will be taking on an opportunity that has large impact across our product landscape, collaborating with highly engaged teams and delivering cutting edge solutions. Along with your extensive experience in backend development, this role demands a dynamic individual who can work efficiently in a collaborative team in environment, communicate effectively, and exhibit humility while being action-oriented.

This will be a remote role to be based in Canada, with a preference for Toronto, Montreal, or Vancouver and surrounding areas. This role is also takes part with a team on-call rotation, roughly 1 week every 3 months.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain the Access Management Service to ensure robust and scalable access controls and authorization mechanisms

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions

  • Implement and optimize systems using NodeJS, Postgres, and Redis

  • Ensure the highest levels of security and performance in the access management system

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers

  • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts

  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs
     

Minimum Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with AWS services and infrastructure

  • Proficient in NodeJS, with solid experience in backend development in a senior capacity

  • Experience with relational databases, particularly Postgres

  • Familiarity with Redis for caching and real-time data processing

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent experience

  • Experience in developing and maintaining large-scale access management systems

  • Knowledge of security best practices and standards

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies

  • Strong DevOps Knowledge

  • Ability to travel 2-3 times a year for team meetings

  • Communiquer efficacement avec les parties prenantes afin de comprendre leurs besoins et de fournir des solutions qui répondent aux besoins de l'entreprise

Qualifications minimales

  • Solides connaissances et expérience pratique des services et de l'infrastructure AWS

  • Maîtrise de NodeJS, avec une solide expérience en développement backend à un poste senior

  • Expérience des bases de données relationnelles, en particulier Postgres

  • Connaissance de Redis pour la mise en cache et le traitement des données en temps réel

  • Excellentes compétences en communication écrite et orale

Qualifications souhaitées

  • Licence en informatique, ingénierie ou dans un domaine connexe, ou expérience équivalente

  • Expérience dans le développement et la maintenance de systèmes de gestion des accès à grande échelle

  • Connaissance des meilleures pratiques et normes en matière de sécurité

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For Canada-BC based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $131,500 and $180,840. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, our compensation package may include annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
