Product Associate - Software (Oil & Gas Analytics Platform)

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Contribute to a kick ass team and a rapidly expanding product, “EVA”.
  • Work alongside the software Product Manager and collaborate with stakeholders, users, and domain experts to determine product requirements.
  • Analyze and document findings for the software development team.
  • Document functional requirements, expected workflows, and acceptance criteria using a variety of tools (mock-ups, flow diagrams, screenshots, etc).
  • Speak up with great insights and ideas that will change the way we approach the problem.
  • Work with developers to provide any clarifications or additional details as needed.
  • Verify features are implemented as per acceptance criteria.
  • Provide frontline support and software troubleshooting to end users of the product.
  • Escalate customer issues to the development or business teams as appropriate.
  • Participate in meetings and contribute to the establishing of priorities and timelines for projects.
  • Become an expert in our software, processes, and industry to maximize product quality and enable informed discussions with business stakeholders.
  • Participate in software release management activities and follow-up.
  • Assist with end-user documentation and user guides.
  • Be flexible and willing to adjust priorities as needs dictate.
  • Work under guidance and follow technical direction from leaders.

Minimum Skills & Qualifications

  • Located in Calgary, AB.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field or sufficient professional experience.
  • Entry-level position: new graduates are welcome and encouraged to apply!
  • Advanced analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Passion for product excellence.
  • Experience working in organizations with strong collaboration between Engineering, Testing, Support, Data, Product, Design, and Business functions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

  • Agile/Scrum experience.
  • Oil and gas experience.
