Job Title: Product Manager – Extended Weed Control, Packaged Herbicides and Fungicides

Location: Calgary Preferred or Western Canada close to major airport

Business/Function Overview

The Product Manager – Extended Weed Control, Packaged Herbicides and Fungicides is a member of the Canadian Marketing Team reporting to the Canadian Marketing Director and is responsible for the extended weed control, packaged herbicides and fungicide portolios in Canada. The preferred location for this position is the FMC Canada’s Calgary Office however exceptional candidates will be considered who are home-based in an agricultural region of Canada within reasonable proximity of a major airport.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead extended weed control, in crop herbicide and fungicide packaged goods portfolio business, planning and strategy
  • Annual and monthly Demand planning for the portfolio in conjunction with demand planning, finance, account teams to fulfill customer purchase plans
  • Collaboration with Sales and Accounts team on a regular basis to understand and address current and future market challenges
  • Collaboration with Sales and Accounts team for interaction and feedback with customers, to maintain customer centricity in marking plans
  • Effective analysis and evaluation of market research and customer data to drive effective campaigns, programs and pricing
  • Development of annual brand plans and active contribution in the annual budgeting process, long range planning and other marketing directives
  • Work closely with Product Development & Regulatory on future pipeline products
  • Align with eastern business for areas of portfolio overlap
  • Travel approximately 20% depending on time of the year

Required Education

Bachelor Degree preferable in Agriculture, Business or a related field

Qualifications

  • 5-8 years experience in the agricultural crop protection industry required.
  • 3+ years of marketing/sales experience preferred
  • Knowledge of the Canadian Agricultural Market as it relates to market dynamics.
  • Working knowledge of marketing process through training and experience, with emphasis in the development of Brand Plans and Demand Planning
  • Ability to balance issues and reach an appropriate decision using sound judgment.
  • Ability to drive decisions and bring conclusion to issues.
  • Ability to think and work in integrated teams (research, discovery and development), global planning, resourcing, manufacturing and finance) to determine future trends and market opportunities
  • Demonstrated financial acumen/analytical skills
  • Above average spreadsheet and presentation software skills
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration and organizational skills
