Job Description

We're looking for a talented individual to join CLEAResult as a Program Director. The successful candidate will report into the SVP of Canada and oversee a portfolio of programs focused on Energy Transition. They will also be a member of CLEAResult Canada’s Senior Leadership Team (CSLT) and CLEAResult’s Senior Leadership Team (SLT). This means they will collaborate with CLEAResult’s most senior leaders as needed or when appropriate.

The Program Director of Energy Transition will oversee implementation of all programs in Canada dedicated to Demand Response, Electric Vehicles, Distributed Energy Resources, Renewables, and Electrification. They will also support various engagements and consulting projects. This pivotal role directs all phases of our client's programs, from inception through completion. The ideal candidate will be able to thrive in 4 key areas:

Technical: a strong technical aptitude with knowledge of energy transition products, utility operations, and/or grid infrastructure

Sales: Utility or industry relationships across Canada with a natural aptitude for selling new services. Ability to represent CR as a thought leader on panels and working groups.

Operations: Experience managing business units, P&L’s, multi-layered teams, operations, & matrix organizations. Ability to establish processes and execute.

Style: A change agent and growth-oriented leader with strong communication skills. Highly motivated and can work autonomous. A natural collaborator with the ability to confidentially navigate ambiguity.

In addition, key responsibilities for the role include:

  • Manage a national portfolio of client programs and projects (typically $5—30m in annual revenue without incentives)

  • Leads client engagements and implementation activities across Canada

  • Manage a cross-functional staff typically consisting of 10-50 people. Staff may include program delivery, operations, sales, engineering, marketing, field resources, etc

  • Provide direct management for 2-5 team members and champion change management initiatives.

  • Build relationships with existing and prospective clients. Collaborate with business development & practice teams to support growth initiatives

  • Oversees creation and execution of contracts within portfolio for compliance and client satisfaction

  • Responsible for contract risk management (identification, management and resolution of risks) for portfolio of programs & projects

  • Manages complex and varied portfolio of programs and projects

  • Has significant business development responsibility and may act as a client manager

  • Creates technical content and intellectual property, including content for corporate marketing

  • Subject matter expertise in energy efficiency, energy transition, demand response, or renewables

  • Solid understanding of utility or electrical infrastructure

  • 15+ years of work experience

  • 10+ years of program management experience

  • 8+ years people management

  • 5+ years of business development experience

  • Bachelor’s degree, MS or MBA preferred

  • Strong leadership, autonomy, and high motivation to drive results in complex projects

  • The ability to thrive in a high pace and highly collaborative environment

  • This role can be located anywhere in Canada

  • This role has no office time requirement (full time virtual is permitted)

  • National travel is required

Compensation Range

$134,785.00 - $224,605.00
