Job Description
We are looking for a Project Accountant to join our dynamic Finance team. Reporting to the Senior Financial Controller, Operations, you will provide support to managers in project financial tracking and invoicing activities.
We offer a flexible hybrid work arrangement, allowing you to work from home and from one of our offices in Quebec.
Primary responsibilities
- Maintain the financial health of a portfolio of projects;
- Ensure the accuracy of monthly revenue recognition;
- Take care of the monthly invoicing of the project portfolio under his/her responsibility;
- Actively contribute to improving the average collection period (ARP) by working with all stakeholders (project managers, accounts receivable, customers, etc.);
- Validate all financial controls put in place to minimize errors and maximize efficiency (rate sheets, resource allocation, precise work breakdown structure), during the project opening process;
- Meet with project managers to monitor project finances;
- Review all contracts to ensure accurate revenue recognition;
- Establish and maintain a relationship of trust with our internal and external customers;
- Maintain up-to-date project information (budgets, amendments, rates, etc.).
- Understand and ensure compliance with CIMA+ internal control rules;
Qualifications
- College diploma in accounting or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role
- Experience in a professional services organization (asset)
- Ability to manage multiple project priorities simultaneously, while meeting tight deadlines and working under pressure
- Autonomy, flexibility, agility, good communication skills, and analytical and proactive problem-solving skills
- Fluency in French and English, both spoken and written; bilingualism is an essential requirement for this position in order to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including our customers, partners and cross-sectoral teams nationwide
