The expected hourly rate for this position ranges from $52 to $80 per hour.
Across the country, nurse leaders are pursuing Magnet® and Pathway to Excellence® (PTE) designation—milestones that signal national leadership in quality, innovation, and nurse empowerment. These recognitions from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) set a high standard, and while the journey is rigorous, it’s also transformational.

We are expanding our consulting bench and seeking experienced Project Associates—contracted, project‑based nursing leaders with proven Magnet or PTE expertise—to support health systems in achieving nursing excellence.

Consulting Designed for Nurse Leaders

About the Project Associate Role
Project Associates work on a project‑to‑project basis, paid only when engaged. This is a flexible, contract role with no minimum hours or benefits, ideal for seasoned Magnet/PTE experts looking to apply their experience across multiple organizations.
Key Responsibilities
Project Associates may contribute to a range of Magnet and PTE consulting engagements, including: Conducting comprehensive Magnet/PTE gap assessments, evaluating culture, structure, processes, and data against ANCC standards. Supporting Engagement Managers in maintaining project plans, tracking milestones, and participating in virtual/on‑site meetings with nursing leadership and stakeholders. Providing document writing support, including narrative development, exemplar refinement, and alignment with Magnet/PTE standards. Delivering training and education, such as Magnet/PTE bootcamps and document development seminars. Participating in mock site‑visit activities to prepare clients for ANCC appraiser evaluations. Supporting other Magnet- or PTE‑focused project needs based on client priorities.
Required Qualifications
Active RN license BSN required; MSN preferred Minimum 5 years as a Magnet or PTE Coordinator/Director with a proven track record of achieving designation or redesignation.
Desired Experience & Expertise
We are seeking leaders with demonstrated excellence in:
Leading organizations through Magnet or PTE designation or redesignation. Designing or evolving shared governance structures and professional practice models. Writing and refining Magnet narratives and exemplars with strong editorial skill. Conducting Magnet/PTE gap assessments, developing roadmaps, and leveraging NDNQI, RN satisfaction, and patient experience data relative to Magnet standards. Preparing organizations for ANCC site visits, including conducting mock surveys.
