Job Responsibilities:
JOB PROFILE:
Polycon Industries is looking for a Project Lead who has a strong interest in a high volume automotive manufacturing environment dealing with new and existing automated systems.
QUALIFICATIONS NECESSARY TO DO THE JOB:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Industrial or Systems Design Engineering degree or related field of study preferred
  • Will consider candidates with Diploma in the above engineering fields who possess the required experience
  • Minimum five (5) years of related experience required
  • Multi-disciplinary experience in process or equipment engineering in an assembly environment
  • Must be capable of handling projects from inception to completion with respect to timing, budget, concept, feasibility, design, construction, try-out, launch, and logistics
  • Excellent organizational, communication skills (English), presentation skills and report writing skills
  • Proven performance in continuous improvement activities; Strong skills in process trouble shooting and problem solving as well as interacting with the customer and suppliers
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, self-motivation and determination attributes
  • Extra consideration given to candidates that have experience in more than one of the following:
    • Controls systems (PLCs, networking, robotics, etc.)
    • Robotics, including programming and integration
    • Automated equipment design and construction
    • Understanding, using and applying GD&T and principal effects
  • Familiarity with automotive quality requirements (APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC) preferred
  • Process and manufacturing knowledge of plastic parts preferred. Ie: Assembly of components, Punching, Ultrasonic


MAIN DUTIES:

  • Implementation of automated systems from inception to completion in order to satisfy program requirements.
  • Lead and manage the design and build of automated systems to provide robust solutions that meet customer performance, cost, quality, and timeliness objectives.
  • Conduct product benchmarking and research studies and analyze data to develop new designs or concepts for automated systems.
  • Direct testing activities for under designated conditions to ensure operational performance meets project specifications with proven reliability.
  • Coordinate fabrication and installation activities to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and customer specifications.
  • Provide design direction to the CAD Designer(s) and assist them in altering or modifying the design to obtain specified functional and operational performance.
