The Quality Assurance Lead is responsible for providing effective quality solutions, oversight and guidance to ensure safe, fit for purpose and technical quality solutions, consistently enabling projects and existing operations. Success is evidenced by adherence to adopted procedures, processes and guidelines as well as compliance to applicable regulatory requirements, enablement of safe and efficient installation of equipment as well as operations and executed projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Quality oversight of projects and MOC’s through the engagement of the suppliers, third party inspector as well as Keyera inspectors
- Lead the team in providing Quality Audits to suppliers, contractors and service providers where necessary
- Provide Quality requirements, direction, and oversight within Keyera’s Project Delivery System that will ensure the Quality requirements are consistently and predictably delivered in a safe, cost-effective, and good quality manner.
- Work with other Keyera business units to understand in order to meet all their QA requirements including documents turnover, CSA requirements, regulatory requirements
- Ensure QA actively engages with Projects and Operations, providing practical support, coaching, and subject matter expertise
- Empower the QA team to deliver engagement during the development and execution of projects enabling the effective transition to operations
- Provide QA oversight at the Corporate, site and supplier level
QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate will be well-organized, energetic, and service-oriented with the following qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering, with P.Eng. designation in the province of Alberta or a Diploma of Welding Engineer, Mechanical, Metallurgy or similar discipline
- Broad technical background with a minimum of 10 years related industry and supporting process and technology experience
- Prior experience working with an EPC or Owner organization in a Quality Assurance or Quality Surveillance role
- Experience acting as the Owners Inspector as defined by ABSA and ASME B31.3.
- Experience in development of audit plans and auditing engineering contractors, fabricators and vendors
- Proven experience developing and implementing quality plans on large-scale infrastructure projects
- Firm understanding of codes, standards, and regulatory requirements and their application in oil and gas facility projects including, but not limited to:
- ASME – BPVC, B31.3, B31.1
- ABSA – Safety Codes Act and supporting regulations
- CSA – W59, B51, Z662, C22.1
- ISO – 9001
- CWB
- AER
- CER
- Exceptional time management, leadership skills, and detail oriented
- Excellent communicator and demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple scope simultaneously
- Strong technical writing skills
Travel and Working conditions
- The position is based out of the Calgary office
- Frequent travel is expected to locations outside of Calgary
- Winter and off highway driving skills are required
