The Queen’s Engineering Competition (QEC) is an annual event that allows engineering students from different disciplines attending Queen’s University to compete in a variety of engineering competition categories. QEC showcases the innovation and creativity of Queen’s Engineering students, throughout a weekend of good-natured competition. The winners of each category are selected to compete at the Ontario Engineering Competition (OEC), where they compete for cash prizes and a chance to attend the Canadian Engineering Competition (CEC).

We are currently hiring Coordinators in the following departments, with the number of positions for each respective department:

  • Challenges 
  • Marketing 
  • Sponsorships 

General

    • Work term will be from May 2026 to the Conference date in November 2026
    • Passion for creativity and innovation in STEM
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills
    • Strong work ethic

    Challenges Coordinators

    • Determine the outline of the challenge and ensure feasibility
    • Supervise competitors and run challenge on day of competition
    • Work with logistics team to determine the size of venue and budget needed for resources
    • Create and present a delegate/rubric package for each challenge

    Marketing Coordinators

    • Help manage QEC website and social media platforms
    • Take photos and videos during the event
    • Plan in-person marketing campaigns for registration and other operations

    Sponsorship Coordinators

    • Identify and engage potential sponsors
    • Maintain relationships with sponsors and ensure their expectations are met
    • Work closely with the team to integrate sponsorship contributions effectively

    Applications are due May 31, 2026 at 11:59PM. Interviews will occur June 4-8th.
