Job Summary

Job Description

The Account Manager's role is to retain and grow active accounts for the business. They will strengthen relationships, promote additional products and proactively help their customers find and grow new business.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Successfully sell and promote company products and services through sales calls, tradeshows, and one-on-one presentations
  • Achieve both short and long-term objectives for increased sales volume and growth
  • Educate and inform customers about company products to assure growth, product/service development, quality control, and profitability
  • Responsible for securing additional orders
  • Maintain open communications between our company and customers, and establish a professional customer-vendor relationship with appropriate customer interaction
  • Act within the scope of corporate objectives and policies to accomplish assigned goals

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • 0 - 2 years of related experience
  • Knowledge of market research, sales and negotiating principles
  • Strong level of written and verbal communication skills in the form of phone calls, emails, social media postings, etc.
  • Use of professional language and good judgment when interacting with customers
  • Excellent organization and time management
  • Ability to effectively present information and ideas to varying levels in our organization and groups of all sizes

Additional Job Details

Sales Account Manager for field sales, sales development, and working with new and existing customers in the Elevator Industry. Arrange and hold customer meetings, quote follow ups of written quotes for AC/DC Motors, Gearless Machines and Hydraulic motors in the Elevator Industry. Determination of products required to meet the customer requirements especially for Modernization Projects. Customer account responsibility, some travel to customer locations and several industry trade show per year. Excellent verbal and written technical skills required.

Duties:

  • Consult with external customers including specifying, consulting engineers and elevator contractors, interpreting customer requirements and providing product application assistance via phone and e-mail
  • Prepare and follow up on quotations from established pricing strategies.
  • Provide timely and accurate information to customers on the proper application and installation of Imperial Electric Machines and Motors
  • Position reports to the Vice President of Sales and Marketing

Educational Requirements:

  • Minimum education required is a Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Engineering or Business; or equivalent work experience preferably in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or recent college graduates with an aptitude for sales.
  • Elevator Industry Experience a benefit
  • Excellent oral, technical writing and presentation skills
  • General computer software skills including MS Office, AutoCAD and SalesForce
  • Ability to plan, organize, and manage sales contacts and quotes.
  • This is an sales position with travel necessary and office will be in Canton, OH.
