About the Role

Are you full of energy, creative, and ready for a role in a fast-paced, SaaS-based company? Planful is looking to grow our Sales Development team to keep up with our growing demand. You will develop skills to filter and qualify outbound interest, generate pipeline, and help prospective customers address their business problems.

What you'll do

  • Engage and qualify inbound leads using Planful’s tech stack, ensuring a seamless transition into the sales pipeline.
  • Conduct strategic discovery calls with prospects to identify business needs, qualify opportunities, and drive engagement, later introducing prospects to Planful Account Executive to further drive partnership.
  • Understand finance users’ pain points, gather key requirements, and align Planful’s solutions with their business objectives.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Account Executives to optimize inbound lead conversion and develop targeted outreach strategies. This can come in the form of remote website lead generation, or in-person events.
  • Develop industry expertise, gaining a deep understanding of the mid-market landscape and the value Planful delivers to customers.
  • Consistently meet and exceed quarterly quotas of qualified pipeline/AE introductions, contributing to overall revenue growth.
  • Provide detailed call notes and insights to Account Executives, ensuring a smooth handoff and well-defined next steps.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer information in Salesforce to support data-driven decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Background in marketing or education is preferred but not required—we’ve seen success with candidates from diverse fields like teaching, accounting, and retail sales. Strong relationship management skills and public speaking experience are valuable indicators of success in this role.
  • Driven and results-oriented, with a strong desire to grow a career in technology/SaaS sales and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-performance environment
  • Excellent communicator and team player, with strong written and verbal communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and coachable, excelling in a remote work setting, eager to receive feedback, and proactive in managing multiple priorities effectively
  • Passionate about pursuing and growing a career in technology/SaaS sales
  • Bachelor’s Degree – Finance,  Accounting, or Marketing degree is a plus
  • Experience with Salesforce and Outreach is a plus

Pay Transparency Statement

At Planful our top priority is to support our employees and ensure each individual has access to equal growth opportunities. Pay decisions take into consideration the individual's skillset, experience, knowledge, qualifications for the role, and specific work location. 

Our base salary band for this role is $45,000-50,000 per year, depending on working location and experience. This position is eligible for bonuses/commission and more details about our company benefits can be found here: https://planful.com/jobs/
