The Opportunity
This position reports to the Manager, Financial Reporting with working level supervision provided primarily by the Coordinator – Internal Reporting.
As a member of the Financial Reporting team, this position assists in the preparation of accurate financial information and activities that support the communication of accurate and timely financial results of TC Energy and TransCanada PipeLines Limited.

What you’ll do
- Coordinate the preparation of the Monthly Financial Performance Reports and Business Unit Dashboards
- Contribute to the preparation of the Quarterly and Annual notes to the Consolidated Financial Statements, including support schedules
- Assist in the preparation of the Quarterly and Annual Management’s Discussion and Analysis (MD&A), taking a lead role in the coordination and review of the Q4 MD&A.
- Coordinate with business units on analysis, including responding to the requirements of external auditors with respect to accounting and reporting issues
- Respond to the requirements of external auditors with respect to accounting and reporting issues
- Prepare Pension Plan financial statements and Statistics Canada reports
- Proactively analyze financial information as well as accounting and financial reporting complex matters
- Develop and maintain Excel models used to support accounting, reporting and compliance requirements
- Other ad hoc projects and analysis as required
Minimum Qualifications
- Successful completion of an undergraduate degree from a recognized post-secondary institution
- Designated Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA)
- Minimum 8 years of progressive accounting-related experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Keen attention to detail and drive for continuous improvement
- Strong financial analysis, reporting and communication skills
- Ability to perform effectively under tight deadlines with multiple priorities and minimal supervision
- Proven team player, successful in developing and maintaining collaborative working relationships
- Advanced knowledge of Excel, with ability to optimize Excel models
- Knowledge of U.S. GAAP or other recognized accounting standards
- Working knowledge of financing arrangements considered an asset
- Experience working with SAP, BPC, Workiva, SharePoint, Teams and/or Power BI considered an asset
