About Us

At Davidson & Company our people are our strongest asset. From our humble beginnings in 1984, our entrepreneurial drive has grown our firm to nearly 200 strong and established us as one of the largest independent CPA firms in B.C. and the leading public auditor in Canada.

From our offices in the hub of downtown Vancouver, you’ll be introduced to the tax, audit and advisory services we provide across our diversified global client base, from our stronghold in mining & exploration to the emerging cryptocurrency and cannabis industries. And unlike the other behemoth accounting firms, at Davidson we offer the opportunity to explore and experience multiple facets of the accounting profession. From day one, you’ll have the opportunity to work alongside our team of top-notch industry leaders as you carve your own path and make an impact here at Davidson.

About the Role:

Davidson is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Public Company Audit Practice. In this role, you'll gain hands-on exposure to a wide range of clients. You'll get a front-row seat to some of the most dynamic sectors in the market - It's perfect if you're curious, adaptable, and want to make an impact.

What You'll Be Doing:
No two days are the same—but here’s a taste of what you’ll be up to:

  • Jump into the action by leading all phases of audit engagements—from planning and execution to final wrap-up—while working with a diverse portfolio of clients.
  • Turn numbers into narratives as you document audit procedures and findings using our proven methodology.
  • Be a mentor and a motivator—guide, train, and support junior team members as they grow their skills and confidence.
  • Channel your inner analyst to research and resolve complex financial reporting issues with precision and insight.
  • Be the client’s go-to problem solver, proactively gathering information, resolving roadblocks, and recommending smarter business processes.
  • Break down the complex—offer clear, concise advice on technical accounting topics like revenue recognition, share-based compensation, business combinations, and internal controls.
  • Flex your IFRS & US GAAP muscles and apply your deep knowledge of auditing standards and techniques to deliver top-tier work.
  • Collaborate with a crew of sharp minds, where debate, discussion, and innovation are part of the daily rhythm.
  • Keep growing with continuous learning opportunities that support your career goals and professional development.
  • Think globally—you’ll work with high-profile clients not just in Canada, but around the world.

What You’ll Bring to the Table:
You're more than just your credentials—you’re curious, collaborative, and ready to make an impact. Here’s what sets you up for success:

  • A solid foundation: You’ve got a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or a related field) and your CPA designation (or equivalent) -- or you've passed the CFE and are closing in on that designation.
  • Experience that counts: You bring 2–3 years of public practice audit & accounting experience and know your way around client files like a pro.
  • IFRS fluency: You’re confident navigating IFRS and auditing standards, and you know how to apply them in real-world scenarios.
  • People skills: Whether it’s clients or colleagues, you communicate clearly, listen actively, and build strong relationships.
  • Project juggler: You’re organized, analytical, and thrive when managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Detail detective: You’ve got a sharp eye for detail and a knack for spotting what others might miss.
  • Tech-savvy: You're comfortable using Caseware, MS Office, and a willingness to leverage AI-driven tools and new technologies to work smarter

What’s in It for You?
At Davidson, we believe great work deserves great rewards—and we’re not just talking about salary. We’ve built a total rewards package that supports your well-being, growth, and lifestyle, with a few fun surprises along the way. Here's a peek at what you can expect:

  • $1,000/year for mental health supports
  • Three weeks of vacation to start
  • Performance-based bonuses—your impact matters, and we make sure you feel it
  • Hybrid flexibility: Enjoy the best of both worlds with a mix of work-from-home freedom and in-office collaboration (at least three days a week)
  • $300 wellness credit + $250 monthly Commuting & Connectivity allowance—whether you’re powering your body, covering your commute, or staying connected on your phone or your Wi-Fi, we’ve got you covered
  • Global client exposure—your work could take you across borders (or at least across time zones)
  • A fun-loving social and culture crew that keeps things lively with team events, themed days, and spontaneous moments that make work feel a little less like work
  • …and that’s just the beginning...

We won’t spoil the whole list here—but trust us, we’re all about rewarding great people in meaningful ways. Ask us more when we meet!

Let’s Talk Numbers

We believe in transparency and fairness when it comes to compensation. For this role, the annual salary range is $75,000–$95,000, depending on your experience and what you bring to the table.

And that’s just the beginning—our total rewards package adds even more value beyond the base salary.

Ready to Take the Next Step?

If this role sounds like your kind of vibe, don’t overthink it—send us your resume and application. We’re excited to meet talented folks who want to grow, lead, and have a little fun along the way.

What you need to know about the Calgary Tech Scene

Employees can spend up to one-third of their life at work, so choosing the right company is crucial, not just for the job itself but for the company culture as well. While startups often offer dynamic culture and growth opportunities, large corporations provide benefits like career development and networking, especially appealing to recent graduates. Fortunately, Calgary stands out as a hub for both, recognized as one of Startup Genome's Top 100 Emerging Ecosystems, while also playing host to a number of multinational enterprises. In Calgary, job seekers can find a wide range of opportunities.
