What you will do:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team. Reporting into the Controller’s Group, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timely financial reporting. Although not a startup by definition, we operate as a lean and agile company whereby all members of the team “roll up our sleeves” and contribute across various capacities to drive success. We expect our Senior Accountant to exhibit the same hands-on approach, passion for our mission and innate ability to get things done.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the monthly close and consolidation process including preparing journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and ensuring the consolidated financial statements are properly prepared
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly and year end financial statements
- Support the year end audit process and deliverables
- Perform technical accounting research, prepare position papers for new and complex transactions
- Investigate and correct discrepancies/irregularities in financial entries, documents, and reports
- Responsible for maintaining accurate financials including revenue recognition & FP&A while remaining aware accounting guidelines.
- Participate in SOX compliance activities by documenting end-to-end financial processes, control points, and related walkthroughs for key business cycles.
- Support the design and documentation of new or updated controls when processes change, ensuring alignment with SOX and internal policy requirements.
- Assist with financial statement variance analysis and presentation on a monthly basis
- Work along side the Controller to plan and organize the operations of the growing accounting and finance department
- Responsible for preparing business reports to assist with enabling decision makers in making well-informed business decisions.

Requirements:
- Working towards or completed accounting designation (CPA)
- 3+ years of experience in accounting or financial management
- Knowledge of QuickBooks Online and NetSuite considered an asset
- Working knowledge of IFRS and/or US GAAP
- Experience documenting financial processes and internal controls in a SOX or similar compliance environment.
- Technical competence using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
- Highly motivated and detail oriented
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
- Experience working with media and/or technology infrastructure companies a bonus
Annual Compensation Range:
$80,000-$100,000 CAD base + benefits + equity
Note: The salary range listed for this position is a good faith estimate based on experience, qualifications, and internal compensation structure. The actual salary offered varies depending on the candidate's skill level and experience.
