Work Location: The preference is for candidates in Regina, but the role is eligible for remote work and candidates outside Regina will also be considered. Please note that the location will be based on where the successful candidate resides. Eligible locations include – Regina, Saskatoon, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg and Toronto.

Senior Actuarial Analyst

The Senior Actuarial Analyst is responsible for development of models using a variety of techniques. Produces reports, presents findings and makes recommendations to support corporate decision making. Supports the development of others and contributes to process improvement within the department. Collaborates with other departments and contributes to initiatives and actuarial projects that support the needs of the business. Other role functions include but not limited to:

  • Supports the development of market and competitive product intelligence.

  • Prepares and reviews rate indications.

  • Prepares rate filings.

  • Performs multivariate analysis to improve the accuracy of pricing models and other supporting models.

  • Builds, refines, validates and implements machine learning models.

Education and Experience

  • A four-year degree from an accredited post-secondary education institution in Actuarial Science or a relevant field of study such as Business or Mathematics & Applied Science.

  • Minimum of 4 years of actuarial experience (preferably in the P&C Insurance sector).

  • Required to have significant progress in the completion of associate level actuarial exams (Casualty Actuarial Society or Canadian Institute of Actuaries)

The salary range for this position is $74,319 - $145,411 

Actuarial Consultant

The Actuarial Consultant performs complex actuarial analysis to evaluate and quantify risks, including proposing and measuring the impacts of alternatives and mitigations to support corporate decision-making. Develops and validates highly complex statistical and actuarial models. Gathers and manipulates large datasets to solve business problems. Enhances understanding of actuarial work by developing and mentoring team members. The Actuarial Consultant leads actuarial projects, manages timelines and collaborates with various stakeholders. Other role functions include but not limited to:

  • Gathers and compiles data required to solve business problems: retention, growth, profitability, and competitive positioning.

  • Monitors the key performance indicators of the portfolio, and reports to leadership as necessary. Recommends improvements to rating structures or changes to current rating algorithms.

  • Collaborates with product management, corporate underwriting, corporate claims and operational teams to understand issues and recommend and develop solutions.

  • Oversees the development and maintenance of tracking reports to measure the level of success of new rating structures. 

Education and Experience

  • A four-year degree from an accredited post-secondary education institution in Actuarial Science or a relevant field of study such as Business or Mathematics & Applied Science.

  • FCIA (Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries) or FCAS (Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society) designation.

  • Eight years of actuarial experience, preferably in the P&C insurance sector.

The salary range for this position is $81,758 - $162,859.

Note: Titles and pay for all roles will be commensurate with verification of education, experience, and the number of completed exams sponsored by the Casualty Actuarial Society or Canadian Institute of Actuaries.
