About Deck

Deck is building the data infrastructure for the internet. We make scattered, login-protected data instantly accessible through clean APIs and integrations—empowering businesses to act fast and smart, with no friction.

We’re a team of builders from top-tier tech companies who believe one thing: great ideas need great data. If you thrive in early-stage chaos, own your work like a founder, and think in frameworks—not features—Deck might be your next home.

Role

We are seeking a Senior AI Engineer to join our team and focus on the AI-driven components of our backend application. The program autonomously navigates websites using a browser automation tool and leveraging AI to interpret web pages and execute actions like signing in, navigating and parsing data points, downloading files, etc.

Responsibilities
  • Co-lead the development of AI-powered browser automation that can navigate websites using a browser automation framework.

  • Implement AI models that interpret webpage elements (screenshots, HTML) and determine the best course of action to achieve specific goals

  • Design and integrate AI decision-making systems that enable autonomous navigation and data extraction from any website.

  • Collaborate with data scientists to fine-tune AI models for accuracy and efficiency.

  • Ensure seamless interaction between browser automation tool and AI, ensuring smooth transitions through complex web flows.

  • Continuously improve the program’s ability to adapt to different website layouts and patterns.

  • Design and implement self-diagnosis/healing models of AI systems.

Requirements
  • Knowledge of machine learning techniques, particularly in decision-making and action-prediction models.

  • Proven expertise in building scalable and maintainable AI-driven applications.

  • Ability to review and optimize AI models for better navigation and task execution.

  • Familiarity with natural language processing and computer vision techniques for analyzing web content.

Nice-to-haves
  • Experience with any browser automation frameworks.

  • Experience with cloud platforms, especially Azure.

Why Join Deck?
  • Competitive pay for the right skills

  • Proven leadership with a track record of big results

  • Significant ownership and autonomy in how you operate

  • A team of exceptional peers tackling complex, high-leverage problems

  • Momentum: recent fundraise by top-tier investors, massive whitespace, and accelerating traction

Deck isn’t just a product—it’s a mission. We believe that businesses should spend more time thinking and building, and less time wrestling with data plumbing. If that vision excites you, and you’re energized by early-stage speed, ambiguity, and intensity—let’s talk.

Before applying, take a look at our Constitution. If you don't dislike it, there's a good chance you’ll love working here.

What you need to know about the Calgary Tech Scene

Employees can spend up to one-third of their life at work, so choosing the right company is crucial, not just for the job itself but for the company culture as well. While startups often offer dynamic culture and growth opportunities, large corporations provide benefits like career development and networking, especially appealing to recent graduates. Fortunately, Calgary stands out as a hub for both, recognized as one of Startup Genome's Top 100 Emerging Ecosystems, while also playing host to a number of multinational enterprises. In Calgary, job seekers can find a wide range of opportunities.
