The Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager, Operations Finance, the Senior Analyst, Operations Finance is a key member of the Operations Finance Team for Canada and serves as a Finance business partner for Operations departments within Canopy Growth’s Canadian cannabis business.   

The Senior Analyst will be a key business partner for Operations departments to support across budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.  The Senior Analyst will work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate reporting along with providing thought leadership in the continued evolution of Operational financial metrics. 

Responsibilities  

  • Support numerous “what ifs” scenario analysis, and identify the impact of manufacturing decisions on the final cost per unit for each of the business segments

  • Gain a deep understanding of the different manufacturing processes, and how costs flow through the bill of materials

  • Provide Analysis and support on Manufacturing and Budget Variances to identify and understand major cost drivers.

  • Track Operational Cost Saving Initiatives and support Value Realization Opportunities

  • Support the standard costing strategy alongside the cost accounting team

  • Support gross margin optimization initiatives, by modeling portfolio COGS based on various manufacturing output levels

  • Work with the NPD team to build costs for potential new products

  • Support Quarter and Month End Close Analysis

  • Support Budget and Department Spend Reviews

  • Collaborate and provide finance support for key stakeholders throughout the business including FP&A, Operations, Accounting, IT, Product, and Facility General Mangers

  • Other duties as assigned

Experience   

  • Bachelor of Commerce/Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Finance or Accounting

  • Chartered Professional Accounting designation is preferred

  • Experience in a CPG or Cannabis Manufacturing Company

  • Experience in Operating Model Analysis and Design

  • Experience in Month and Quarter End Reporting Activities

  • Experience in Budgeting

  • Experience in the Cannabis Industry

  • 2 years of Data Analysis

  • 2 years of Operations and Supply Chain Finance experience, however not mandatory as this is a junior position.
