Job Type:PermanentTHE POSITION
Keyera is looking for a Senior Analytics Products Specialist who operates at the intersection of data development, modeling, and business impact. In this role you will work across business stakeholders, data developers, and product leaders to turn raw data into durable, trusted, and reusable data assets that power reporting, advanced analytics, and emerging AI use cases — particularly in asset-intensive, operational, and capital-driven environments. This role is focused on thinking in terms of systems, not reports, with a focus on optimizing outcomes, instead of outputs.
This role is ideal for someone who can translate complex business problems into scalable data products by designing robust data models, building production-grade transformations, and delivering analytics solutions that materially improve decision-making.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Build Scalable Data Products
Works with key business partners to understand business priorities, identify strategic initiatives, and develop effective and timely analytic solutions
Creates interactive dashboards, reports, and presentations to effectively communicate complex analytical findings to stakeholders
Design and develop production-grade data models (dimensional, semantic, domain-oriented).
Build reusable, governed analytics layers that serve multiple use cases.
Create curated datasets that enable self-serve analytics and advanced modeling.
Develop transformation logic using programming languages such as SQL and Python.
Ensure performance, scalability, and reliability of analytics products.
Model complex operational and asset-related data (e.g., equipment, facilities, production, maintenance, projects).
2. Own the Analytics Layer
Lead transformation logic (SQL-first, with selective use of Python, Spark, or equivalent).
Implement testing, documentation, and observability in analytics workflows.
Establish modeling standards and data product design principles.
Partner with platform leads to ensure upstream alignment and downstream usability.
Design analytics layers that can support operational reporting, forecasting, and optimization use cases.
3. Drive Business Outcomes
Translate ambiguous business problems into structured data solutions.
Define success metrics and measure impact of delivered solutions.
Move beyond descriptive reporting into diagnostic and predictive insight enablement.
Enable operational decision-making, not just executive visibility.
Support use cases such as asset performance, reliability, cost efficiency, capital execution, and operational throughput.
4. Influence Data Architecture & Governance
Contribute to semantic layer design and metric standardization.
Align data definitions across domains (operations, finance, engineering, projects).
Support data quality frameworks and stewardship practices.
Champion analytics best practices across the organization.
Help establish trusted definitions for asset hierarchies, work orders, projects, and cost structures.
Impact Expectations
Within 6–12 months, this role will:
Establish trusted, reusable data products in key operational and asset domains.
Reduce ad-hoc analytics through standardized, governed models.
Improve decision cycle times for operational and capital decisions.
Enable consistent, reliable insight across assets, projects, and performance metrics.
Raise modeling and analytics maturity across the team.
