StackAdapt is hiring a Senior BI Engineer to join our growing Advertising Technologies Team. You will report to the Senior Lead, Business Intelligence and will be responsible for leading the design and execution of automated & scalable reporting, insights & analytics infrastructure. You will get to interact with other internal teams addressing their data requests and designing data pipelines & dashboards to track key business and performance metrics. It is important that you maintain data accuracy with extreme attention to detail.

What You'll Be Doing:- Lead the design and implementation of automated, scalable, and high-performance reporting infrastructure and analytics solutions used across multiple teams.
- Own the architecture and development of complex data pipelines, ETL workflows, and BI dashboards, setting technical standards and best practices for the BI Engineering team.
- Partner closely with Analysts, BI Engineers, Data Scientists, and business stakeholders to translate ambiguous business needs into well-defined, self-serve analytics solutions.
- Continuously monitor, validate, and improve data quality, reliability, and performance across BI systems; proactively identify and resolve root causes of data issues.
- Perform deep-dive and exploratory analyses to uncover trends, anomalies, and opportunities, delivering clear, actionable, and prescriptive recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Optimize queries, data models, and compute resource usage to improve scalability, cost efficiency, and performance.
- Act as a technical owner for critical BI assets, including core data models, pipelines, and dashboards.
- Mentor and coach BI Engineers through code reviews, design reviews, and post-mortems, and drive adoption of BI engineering best practices.
- Lead large BI initiatives end-to-end, breaking down work into parallelizable components, estimating effort, and ensuring high-quality delivery.
- Support maintenance of BI infrastructure and provide guidance on complex ad-hoc requests as needed.
- 4+ years of experience in a quantitative or analytics-driven environment with a solid understanding of statistical concepts and analytical techniques.
- Advanced expertise in SQL and strong experience with Python and/or PySpark for large-scale data processing and ETL design.
- Deep, hands-on experience with Airflow and modern cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift, including performance tuning and optimization.
- Strong background in data warehouse design (e.g., dimensional modeling) and building production-grade BI and analytics solutions.
- Proven experience working in Business Intelligence, Data, or Analytics teams delivering scalable, self-serve reporting and analytics platforms.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., statistics, mathematics, economics, finance, engineering) with a strong academic foundation.
- Extensive experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Looker, Qlik, or similar platforms
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical and analytical concepts to senior and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in programmatic advertising, including RTB, DSPs, SSPs, publishers, or related ad tech platforms, is strongly preferred.
The compensation range listed for this role reflects the expected base salary for candidates located in Ontario, Canada. It is informed by market data and the approved budget for this position. StackAdapt maintains different compensation ranges for roles across other countries and regions, and final offers will be aligned to the candidate’s current location.
This range represents base salary only. Depending on the role, candidates may also be eligible for additional compensation such as annual bonuses, commissions, equity awards, and a comprehensive benefits package.
