Senior Business Intelligence Analyst - Spotfire & Power BI

Key Accountabilities:

• Responsible for the management of administration of Parexel’s BI platforms including Spotfire and PowerBI.
• Contribute to the design, development, and ongoing maintenance of Power BI reports and dashboards for users across the enterprise.
• Provide ongoing support and maintenance for Spotfire dashboards, collaborating with business stakeholders to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues effectively.
• Work closely with business users, business analysts, data engineers, and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Analyze complex business and operational system requirements and recommend solution options.
• Integrate data from various sources into Power BI using SQL queries, SharePoint, and Dataflows to provide comprehensive insights.
• Write and optimize SQL queries to extract and manipulate data for reporting purposes.
• Participate in meetings and discussions to understand business needs and provide technical insights.
• Stay updated with the latest developments and best practices in Power BI, SQL, and Power Platform.
• Propose and implement improvements to existing reports, dashboards, and processes.
• Experience working in Agile development software methodology, authoring technical documents / specifications.

Skills:

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience with the entire Spotfire and Power BI stack is required.
• Proven experience administering, upgrading and managing TIBCO Spotfire platform.
• Proficiency in Power BI, including Power Query, DAX, and Power BI Service.
• Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL/ELT processes including advanced SQL and Python.
• Experience working with data sources like SQL Server, Oracle, Azure SQL, Azure Synapse, Databricks, Blob Storages & Data Lakes.
• Strong understanding of data visualization best practices.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
• Knowledge of standard ITL process.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• A flexible attitude with respect to work assignments and new learning.
• Ability to manage multiple and varied tasks with enthusiasm and prioritize workload with attention to detail.
• Willingness to work in a matrix environment.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, software development, or another related field or equivalent work experience.
