Job Duties and Responsibilities
As a Senior Cloud Virtualization Engineer at Boost Mobile, you will design and optimize cloud-native environments, focusing on automated deployment and recovery. Leveraging expertise in Kubernetes, KubeVirt, Linux-based hypervisors, and automation tools like Ansible and Terraform, you'll drive innovation in virtualization and develop containerized solutions, emphasizing cloud-native infrastructure over VMware.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, installation, and administration of scalable cloud-native virtualization environments with technologies like KubeVirt and VMware
  • Architect and manage Kubernetes clusters, ensuring optimal performance, security, and microservices integration
  • Optimize Linux systems to support complex containerized and virtualized infrastructures as a subject matter expert
  • Oversee infrastructure automation using tools like Ansible and Terraform for seamless deployment and recovery
  • Drive capacity planning and recommend architectural updates to ensure efficient scalability
  • Mentor junior engineers and lead on-call rotations, resolving high-priority issues and guiding escalations

Skills, Experience and Requirements
Education and Experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Equivalent experience with 6+ years of relevant work in virtualization, cloud-native environments, and infrastructure automation
  • 5+ years of experience in designing and managing large-scale virtualization environments using technologies like KubeVirt, VMware, and Linux-based hypervisors


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Deep knowledge of Kubernetes cluster management, Linux systems administration, and virtualized infrastructure best practices
  • Proven ability to automate complex tasks using Python, Shell scripting, Perl, Ruby, or similar languages
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools to automate infrastructure management within a CI/CD pipeline
  • Proven track record providing upper-tier support for bare-metal, virtual machines, and large data storage environments
  • Experience architecting and managing KubeVirt, VMware, or Linux hypervisor environments at scale
  • In-depth understanding of Kubernetes security, microservices architecture, and managing containerized workloads


Salary Ranges
Compensation: $96,250.00/Year - $150,125.00/Year

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
