POSITION OVERVIEW 

As a key contributor to a dynamic, fast-paced financing team, you will use your talent and creativity to make a real impact on the success of Canadian entrepreneurs. You will leverage your strengths and existing network of contacts by identifying opportunities to accelerate the growth of Canadian entrepreneurs and by developing business opportunities, both in financing and advisory.  If you're excited about a career with one of Canada's Top 100 Employers, you've come to the right place! CHALLENGES TO BE MET 

  • You have a concrete business development plan to propose solutions to entrepreneurs’ challenges;

  • You meet and build ongoing relationships with local entrepreneurs, clients and prospects located in Calgary and surrounding areas to discuss the specifics of their business in order to diagnose issues, provide advice and identify, where appropriate, a BDC service offering tailored to their business needs;

  • You prepare and deliver a fast-paced marketing plan aligned with the Business Centre's objectives. This will allow you to ensure the growth and retention of existing clients in your portfolio while also acquiring new clients and creating a pool of business opportunities;

  • You present advisory services mandates to clients (Marketing, Operational Efficiency, Human Resources and Financial Strategy) and do direct selling of certain solutions;

  • You analyze, negotiate and present high quality loan proposals, exercising sound credit judgment;

  • You develop a portfolio of clients and focus on acquiring new clients in sectors like manufacturing, distribution, construction, with an objective to support clients’ growth plans with BDC solutions.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR 

If you can answer YES to the following questions, you may be just the person we are looking for:

  • Do you have a bachelor's degree in commerce or business administration?

  • Do you have a keen interest in entrepreneurship, with more than 5 years of relevant experience in commercial credit or in business analysis and development, and a good understanding of the business world?

  • Do you have a passion for southern Alberta and its rural communities?

  • Do you have a demonstrated ability in business development and delivering on your objectives?

  • Do your clients and business contacts remember you because your advice works and you provide outstanding customer service?

  • Are you a team player who creates lasting and trusting relationships with your peers, business contacts and external partners?

  • Are you a strong negotiator who is focused on results?

A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is required.
