POSITION OVERVIEW 


We are looking for a Senior Commercial Account Manager who will leverage his/her/their interpersonal strengths and network to generate new business opportunities while managing a portfolio of existing clients. Your main objective: to have an impact on the success of entrepreneurs with sales up to $50M through our financing solutions and advisory services adapted to their needs. CHALLENGES TO BE MET 


In a typical week, you would: 

  • Meet with entrepreneurs, clients and prospects, and discuss the specifics of their business in order to identify the issues, provide them with advice and identify, if applicable, a BDC service offering appropriate to their needs. Develop trusted relationships and obtain referrals that lead to new opportunities.

  • Execute your action plan, which is aligned with the Business Centre's objectives. This will allow you to ensure the growth and retention of current clients in your portfolio and creating a business opportunity pipeline channel.

  • Showcase your analytical and negotiation skills while applying strong credit judgement when creating and presenting financing proposals that meet the requirements of both the entrepreneur and BDC. 

  • Work with your teammates to meet and exceed overall objectives related to new client acquisition, transaction volume, advisory service deliveries, portfolio growth, as well as other metrics.

 
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR 


If you can answer YES to the following questions, you may be just the person we are looking for:

  • Do you have the willingness and ability to travel to rural and remote communities to engage with clients and support local development initiatives?

  • Do you have a bachelor's degree in commerce or business administration?

  • Do you have a keen interest in entrepreneurship, with more than 3 years of relevant experience in commercial credit or in business analysis and development, and a good understanding of the business world? We’re looking for demonstrated ability in business development, showcasing a systematic and disciplined approach. Identifying potential customers and developing follow-up strategies are crucial.  

  • Are you self-motivated and results-driven?

  • Do your clients and business contacts remember you because of your outstanding customer service and the impactful support you provide them? Understanding market trends and leveraging expertise to exceed client expectations is essential.

  • Are you a team player who creates lasting and trusting relationships with your peers, business contacts and external partners?

  • Are you a strong negotiator who is focused on results? Effective negotiation is key to closing deals and maintaining profitable relationships

  • Are you able to manage multiple projects while ensuring timely delivery of services?

 

You will also stand out in our selection process if:

  • In addition to an undergraduate degree, you possess professional credentials such as a MBA, CPA, PMP and/or CMC, PEng.

  • You speak multiple languages.

  • You have a track record of inspiring, influencing and engaging both colleagues, clients and connections in your professional network.
