Occupy a unique position in the market, this client is looking for a skilled Data Reporting & Analytics Developer to join our collaborative, cross-functional team that provides data and reporting services across multiple products. This position specifically focuses on creating, managing, and enhancing data-driven reports using AWS tools like QuickSight and Athena. The successful candidate will work within a 6-person scrum team, following a typical PI/sprint cadence to deliver insightful, usage-driven reports for internal and customer-facing stakeholders. You will be involved in shaping data for reporting, learning about event-based data flows, and building impactful analytics and reports to support business decisions.

  • QuickSight Reporting: Develop and maintain internal QuickSight reports providing insights on usage across various Learning Management System (LMS) applications.
    Create customer-facing QuickSight reports offering usage benchmarking insights for external stakeholders.
    Build, maintain, and improve operational reports, providing visibility into business operations.
  • Data Management: Work with event-based data that flows into the company’s centralized data lake, ensuring data is accurately shaped and ready for reporting.
    Write efficient SQL queries to create AWS Athena views and Iceberg tables, structuring the data in a way that supports the reporting requirements.
  • Data Aggregation: Develop QuickSight analyses that aggregate and present the data in meaningful ways, as defined by the product team and business needs.
  • Collaboration: Work within an agile scrum team, contributing to daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
    Collaborate with the product team to ensure reporting requirements are clearly understood and met.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in identifying opportunities to improve data processing workflows and report generation.
    Stay current on new AWS services and features to continually improve reporting capabilities.

What will help you succeed

  • AWS QuickSight: Proven experience developing and maintaining QuickSight reports, both internal and customer-facing.
  • AWS Athena & SQL Skills: Strong experience working with AWS Athena, creating views and Iceberg tables to structure and process large datasets.
    Proficiency in SQL for querying and manipulating data stored in data lakes.
  • Event-based Data Understanding: Familiarity with event-based data flows, especially how data is ingested and structured within data lakes for downstream reporting needs.
  • Agile Development Experience: Experience working in scrum teams within an agile development process, including participation in sprints, stand-ups, and sprint planning.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Strong ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, data engineers, and product managers.
    Clear communication skills, particularly in explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Data-driven Mindset: A strong passion for using data to drive insights and solve business problems.
