The Senior Designer will be responsible for leading and executing the visual identity of OMERS visual brand. In doing so, this role is responsible for designing high-quality visual assets and communication materials that align with OMERS brand identity and engage audiences across multiple internal and external channels. Beyond design execution, this role is instrumental in advocating for, and continuing to progress, the quality and impact of OMERS visual designs. As a creative leader, this role will collaborate with stakeholders across the organization and will be expected to spark creativity that delivers exceptional designs that deliver significant impact for OMERS programs. In addition, this role will spearhead branded template and tool delivery that empowers our global employees in alignment with OMERS brand standards.  

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design visual assets, creating high-quality visual content for presentations, digital screens, signage and posters as well as campaigns that align with OMERS brand identity and communication goals
  • Leverage brand templates, tools, and asset libraries to streamline the creation of on-brand communication materials across the global organization
  • Find new and better ways to present OMERS content to engage audiences across all channels
  • Act as OMERS brand advocate when partnering with content creators across the enterprise to elevate our visual brand
  • Own and maintain an expert level knowledge of OMERS brand standards, ensuring design solutions support global initiatives, maintaining a unified visual identity  
  • Collaborate closely with communications and cross-functional teams to ideate, develop, and execute creative concepts for communication materials  
  • Design for a variety of platforms including digital, print, email, social and presentations, ensuring all visuals are optimized for the medium
  • Apply a strong foundation in typography, layout, and composition to produce designs with meticulous attention to detail  
  • Evaluate emerging trends and technologies in design and content production, and provide guidance on adoption where appropriate Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud. InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator as well as PowerPoint.
  • Project management; Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure and balance multiple projects, balancing priorities
  • Act as OMERS brand advocate when partnering with content creators across the enterprise to elevate our visual brand

Experience:

  • 3 – 6 years of related experience
  • Expert knowledge with Adobe design applications, such as InDesign, Illustrator, etc.
  • Strong knowledge and experience working in PowerPoint
  • Strong knowledge and experience working in Canva
  • Experience working with motion graphic development and delivery
