Role Overview

As a Senior Designer at Dow Jones, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the visual identity and creative output of one of the world’s most trusted brands. Your work will reflect the sophistication, innovation, and premium nature of the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) and Dow Jones brands, ensuring all design assets resonate with our diverse audiences. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will bring creativity, strategic thinking, and technical expertise to a wide range of projects, from digital and print assets to brand campaigns and environmental designs.

Key Responsibilities

Brand Visual Identity Design

Develop and execute visual identity systems for various Dow Jones initiatives, including brand campaigns, digital and print materials, and internal communications.

Ensure designs reflect the premium and authoritative nature of the WSJ and Dow Jones brands, resonating with diverse audiences, from business leaders to consumers.

Creative Campaigns & Marketing Assets

Craft engaging designs for multi-channel campaigns, including digital ads, social media content, email templates, and marketing collateral.

Collaborate with marketing teams to deliver assets that meet strategic goals while maintaining a cohesive brand aesthetic.

Environmental & Experiential Design

Design assets for events, conferences, and physical spaces, including signage, installations, and stage visuals.

Work with production teams to ensure seamless execution of design concepts in physical environments.

Collaboration Across Teams

Partner with marketing, editorial, product, and events teams to deliver cohesive and impactful designs across all Dow Jones properties.

Collaborate with photographers, videographers, and illustrators to integrate compelling imagery and visuals into projects.

Design Systems & Process Improvement

Develop and maintain design guidelines to ensure consistency across all touchpoints while fostering opportunities for creative innovation.

Create templates, frameworks, and tools to streamline workflows and increase efficiency.

Innovation & Audience Insight

Stay informed about design trends and emerging technologies, integrating innovative approaches into creative outputs.

Design with a deep understanding of audience needs, preferences, and challenges, ensuring inclusivity and diversity in visual storytelling.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or a related field.

Experience

5-7 years of professional design experience, ideally in a media, publishing, or luxury brand environment.

Skills

Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and proficiency in Figma.

Strong knowledge of digital, print, and environmental design.

Familiarity with accessibility standards for digital and physical designs.

Exceptional portfolio showcasing a mix of brand identity, campaign, and experiential designs.

Attributes

Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across departments.

Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Pay Range: $90,000 - $110,000
