SailPoint is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sr. Director, Engineering Operations within our Engineering organization. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, championing efficiency, and ensuring collaboration and dependency management across our engineering teams. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with a proven track record in technical program management and developer relations with deep understanding of Enterprise SaaS, DevOps, SDLC best practices as well as compliance with industry regulations such as SOC2, FedRAMP and more.
Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of technical program managers, developer relations specialists, and product owners.
- Continually identify and manage risks and dependencies to accelerate velocity and ensure on-time delivery.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement across the engineering organization
Operational Excellence:
- Oversee the administration and optimization of critical engineering tools such as Jira and Jellyfish.
- Define, implement, and continuously improve SailPoint’s software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodology.
- Drive the adoption of best practices in Agile development and CI/CD.
- Manage relationships with key vendors and service providers.
Program Management & Reporting:
- Oversee the execution of strategic engineering programs and initiatives.
- Provide regular executive-level reporting on program status, risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational efficiency and identify areas for improvement.
Financial Planning & Vendor Management:
- Participate in the annual financial planning process, including budgeting and resource allocation.
- Manage several internal tool vendors, negotiate contracts and ensure optimal service delivery.
- Act as the "front door" for new software purchases, ensuring a consistent approach to procurement that is supported by real business need.
Information Security & Compliance:
- Partner closely with the Information Security team to ensure adherence to security policies and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in engineering leadership roles, with a focus on operations, program management and/or project management.
- Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams.
- Deep understanding of SDLC methodologies and best practices.
- Experience with Jira, Jellyfish, or similar engineering tools.
- Strong knowledge of information security principles and best practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Experience with financial planning and vendor management.
Bonus Points:
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Experience in the identity security industry.
- Familiarity with AWS cloud technologies (AWS.
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or other relevant certifications.

Benefits and Compensation listed vary based on the location of your employment and the nature of your employment with SailPoint.
As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the SailPoint Corporate Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission, along with potential eligibility for equity participation. SailPoint maintains broad salary ranges for its roles to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect SailPoint’s differing products, industries, and lines of business. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity. We estimate the base salary, for US-based employees, will be in this range from (min-mid-max, USD):
$198,450 - $283,500 - $368,550
Base salaries for employees based in other locations are competitive for the employee’s home location.
