We're seeking an experienced and results-driven Account Director or Senior Account Director to join our Sales Team in Europe and support us in our mission to improve human health and quality of life through the development, distribution, and application of advanced computational methods.
As a member of our Sales team, you'll be responsible for growing revenue from our software solutions and services for pharmaceutical, biotech, and life science companies. We're expanding our product offerings beyond technology-leading computational chemistry software into the areas of materials science, biologics, enterprise informatics, databases, and visualization, and the new Strategic Account Executive will play an integral part in this expansion by cultivating current customer relationships and creating new business opportunities. More specifically, this hire will handle the biotech customer segment within their region.
We plan to fill this role in Germany (Mannheim or Munich), France, or the UK.

What you'll do:

  • Create and execute comprehensive sales plans to achieve company objectives and revenue targets in relation to biotech, pharmaceuticals, and life science sectors
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts and stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction, loyalty, and account growth
  • Lead high-level negotiations and close deals with key clients and partners
  • Collaborate closely with the EU+ team to ensure alignment and support for business development initiatives and client requests
  • Produce timely and accurate business reports, revenue forecasts, and provide regular reports on sales performance
  • Conduct customer visits across Europe
  • Represent Schrödinger at national and international scientific conferences


What you should have:

  • Experience in key account management, business development, or consulting in the chemical and/or pharmaceutical industries
  • Proven ability to develop and implement successful sales strategies
  • Advanced degree in life sciences (knowledge of materials science or molecular modeling is a plus)
  • Familiarity with computational chemistry software
  • Fluency in English
  • Fluency in German strongly preferred
