The Senior Engineering Manager leads a team in product development and technology enhancement for pipeline inspection services, ensuring reliable performance and continuous improvement.
The In-Line Inspection business delivers pipeline Inspection services to operators of oil & gas pipelines around the globe.
Reporting to the ILI Engineering Director, the Senior Engineering Manager – is responsible for leading a team of technical specialists, to support & enhance existing products and to develop new technology and products to enhance PPS’s leading position in the Global market.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Research, technology and new product development, for a specific set of ILI platform, including:
- Development of long term, Multi-Generational Technology Plans
- Research & technology development activities
- All new product development activities
- To ensure the ongoing reliable performance of existing products and services, including:
- All aspects of performance including reporting specification and mechanical and electronic & reliability
- Managing the allocation of sustaining engineering resources to best meet business needs
- To lead a multi-disciplinary team of scientists and engineers
- Engagement with ILI leadership & external stakeholders on ILI technology and product development
- As part of the engineering leadership team, lead continuous improvement initiatives to improve the quality and efficiency of the engineering function
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Degree qualified in Engineering, Science, or relevant STEM discipline
- Deep domain knowledge of In-line inspection technologies
- Extensive product development management experience & a track record of delivery of new product development projects
- Experience leading multi-disciplinary technical team of scientists and engineers
- Excellent communication skills, with experience presenting at executive management level
- Excellent technical comprehension and an ability to analyze and solve problems
- Experienced in influencing and gaining solutions in a cross-functional / matrix environment
