Determined, imaginative, curious—if these are some of the ways you describe yourself, we want to learn more about you!

At TC Energy, we are proud to connect the world to the energy it needs. Guided by our values of safety in every step, personal accountability, one team and active learning, we deliver the critical energy that North America and the world rely on while balancing reliability, affordability and sustainability.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Director, Corporate Services & Power & Energy Solutions (PE&S), the Information Services (IS) team is seeking a seasoned Senior Enterprise Architect to provide enterprise‐level architectural leadership across the Corporate Services and PE&S portfolios.

The Senior Enterprise Architect is accountable for defining technology direction, governing architectural decisions, and ensuring that technology solutions align to business strategy, cost discipline, security posture, regulatory obligations, and operational resilience.

Acting as a Domain Enterprise Architect, this role provides leadership and oversight for enterprise architecture across assigned portfolios. The Senior Enterprise Architect leads architectural due diligence, develops enterprise standards and reusable patterns, and delivers clear, well‑supported recommendations through formal governance forums, including the Enterprise Architecture Council (EAC) and Architecture Review Board (ARB).

This position balances strategic architecture stewardship with pragmatic execution oversight, ensuring solutions are fit‑for‑purpose, sustainable, and aligned to long‑term enterprise objectives while supporting near‑term delivery needs.

This role operates as a senior individual contributor, providing authoritative architectural leadership without direct people management. The Senior Enterprise Architect partners closely with business leaders, cybersecurity, infrastructure, finance, and delivery teams to shape technology direction and guide complex investment decisions.

Success in this role is measured by the quality and durability of architectural decisions, portfolio health outcomes, reduction of technical risk and debt, and consistent adherence to enterprise architecture standards while enabling business agility.

What you’ll do

  • Provide enterprise‑level architectural leadership as a Domain Enterprise Architect for the Corporate Services and PE&S portfolios

  • Define, maintain, and govern enterprise architecture principles, standards, and patterns across applications, data, integration, infrastructure, and security domains

  • Lead architectural due diligence, options analysis, and risk assessments, presenting clear recommendations and trade‑offs to the Enterprise Architecture Council (EAC)

  • Govern solution designs through the Architecture Review Board (ARB), ensuring alignment with enterprise standards, security requirements, and strategic objectives

  • Act as an escalation point and authoritative advisor to Portfolio and Solution Architects on complex design and technology decisions

  • Assess portfolio health and identify opportunities for application rationalization, modernization, cloud adoption, and technical debt reduction

  • Contribute to multi‑year technology and capability roadmaps aligned to business strategy, investment planning, and operational resilience goals

  • Ensure architecture decisions and solution designs comply with cybersecurity standards, regulatory requirements, disaster recovery, and business continuity expectations

  • Translate complex architectural analysis into clear, executive‑ready insights to enable informed decision‑making by senior and executive leadership

  • Drive continuous improvement of architecture governance, standards, and decision‑making practices across the enterprise

Minimum Qualifications

  • University degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in enterprise, portfolio, or solution architecture roles within large, complex organizations

  • Demonstrated experience working within formal architecture governance frameworks (e.g., EAC, ARB, or equivalent)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong, practical understanding of enterprise application, data, integration, infrastructure, and security architecture

  • Proven ability to influence without authority and guide senior leaders through complex technology and investment decisions

  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly, concisely, and credibly to executive audiences

  • A continuous‑learning mindset with a passion for architectural excellence, simplification, and sustainable enterprise outcomes
