Job DescriptionAECOM is seeking a Senior Finance Manager for a new position that can be based within the Greater Toronto Area, Calgary, Montreal, or Burnaby areas to join our team. Opportunities for hybrid work are available.
Job Summary:
Reporting to the Regional Finance Director, you will partner with Operations to drive financial performance and compliance. In this role, you will gain in-depth knowledge of the business line's operating environment and projects and manage a small team.
Major Responsibilities:
- Provide financial insights to Business Line management, focusing on enhancing working capital, operating cash flow, and P&L performance.
- Partner with Operations to drive improvement in financial and operating processes and disciplines.
- Monitor, report, and analyze financial performance for operational and project-related activities, offering support to project teams.
- Identify and communicate risks and opportunities, proactively addressing potential issues.
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements, AECOM policies, and ethical standards.
- Maintain effective controls related to AECOM’s SOX program.
- Collaborate with Operations to create the annual financial plan and monthly forecasts.
- Mentor and manage the performance and career development of direct reports.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and contribute to broader finance initiatives.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with internal and external clients.
- Gain a thorough understanding of key contractual agreements with clients and assist in developing models and strategies for large, complex project bids.
Minimum Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, candidates must possess no less than:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Business, Commerce, or a related field, plus 8 (eight) years of relevant financial management experience.
- Professional accounting designation, such as CPA.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Financial management experience in a professional services or project-based environment.
- Proven experience building relationships with operational leaders and project teams, influencing business decisions and outcomes.
- Strong commercial acumen, along with excellent financial modelling and business analysis skills, with the ability to interpret and communicate complex financial data effectively.
- Ability to adapt to and drive change.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the capacity to collaborate and influence at all organizational levels.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and developing a team.
- Strategic mindset, ability to embrace change, foster innovation, and consistently seek opportunities for improvement.
- Bilingual in French and English would be a strong asset
