We are looking for a highly analytical and detail‑oriented Senior Financial Analyst to support the financial management of BMO’s Canadian Branch Network Investment (BNI) portfolio. In this role, you will deliver financial insights, performance reporting, and project tracking that drive strategic decision‑making across our Physical Channels network.
You will partner with cross‑functional teams, develop high‑impact financial materials, and ensure accurate, complete, and timely reporting for capital and NIX initiatives across De Novos, Relocations, Renovations, expansions, and other branch transformation projects.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Insight Generation
- Lead Capital and NIX forecasting and budgeting, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business plans.
- Analyze forecast‑to‑actual performance and provide insights to support financial decision‑making.
- Analyze, monitor, and report on the financial performance of the business/function.
- Prepare Monthly Finance Decks for CA BNI projects, providing actionable insights on Investment Capital and NIX performance vs. Actuals/Forecast.
- Produce and document financial period analyses, including monthly run‑rate forecasts and quarterly forecast‑to‑actual variance reporting.
- Ensure financial results are clearly communicated and understood by business partners.
Performance & Portfolio Management
- Prepare quarterly Performance Decks for all CA regions, covering De Novo, Relocation, and Renovation projects.
- Maintain the monthly CA Performance Scorecard for De Novos, Relocations, Renovations, and Expansions.
- Track Capital and NIX plans across all CA Physical Channels projects, including Refreshes, Downsizing, and Closures.
- Reconcile property space allocation between Retail and Wealth, including required TSA calculations with Nesbitt Burns.
Project Tracking & Governance
- Manage and maintain the CA Project Schedule and CA Site‑by‑Site file on a bi‑weekly basis (or as needed).
- Coordinate metrics and milestone tracking for strategic initiatives.
- Conduct competitor analysis using Share of Doors data to support market insights.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Advisory Support
- Provide financial guidance and recommendations aligned with business strategy and stakeholder needs.
- Partner with internal and external groups to support the execution of strategic initiatives.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders and ensure alignment across teams.
Reporting Tools, Analysis & Documentation
- Gather, structure, and prepare data for recurring and ad‑hoc dashboards and reports.
- Utilize customized exception reports and tracking tools to manage information.
- Develop comprehensive user guides to support strong knowledge transfer and future onboarding.
- Break down complex business problems and translate data into insights and recommendations.
Qualifications
- 4–6 years of relevant experience, with a post‑secondary degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Advanced Excel, PowerPoint & Power BI skillset
- Completion or near completion of a professional accounting designation (CPA or equivalent).
- Strong technical proficiency in financial analysis and reporting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and data‑driven decision‑making capabilities.
- Demonstrated collaboration, influencing, and relationship‑building skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage complex tasks, and apply sound judgment.

The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.
Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
