The Opportunity 

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior IT Auditor to join our Internal Audit team in Calgary. This role goes beyond traditional IT audit, combining technology risk, cybersecurity, governance, and data analytics to deliver insightful, value added assurance across TC Energy and its subsidiariesadded assurance across TC Energy and its subsidiaries. 

You will lead and execute technologyfocused audits, leverage advanced analytics and automation, and collaborate with business and technology leaders to identify risks, strengthen controls, and support informed decisionmaking. You will also contribute to the evolution of IA’s data analytics and responsible AI capabilities, using modern techniques to increase audit coverage, accelerate insights, and enhance audit quality. 

What you’ll do 

  • Execute end-to-end IT audit and advisory engagements in alignment with the annual risk-based audit plan, ensuring conformance with IIA standards and internal audit methodology

  • Assess technology risks across enterprise applications, infrastructure, access and change management, cloud, cybersecurity, data, thirdparty risk, and operational technology (ICS/SCADA)

  • Partner with external subject matter experts to support the execution of specialized or highly technical audits

  • Prepare clear, concise audit reports and present recommendations to management and key stakeholders

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support remediation of audit findings and monitor the effectiveness of corrective actions

  • Contribute to the development and ongoing refinement of the annual riskbased audit plan, including identification of emerging technology risks

  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with IT, Cybersecurity, ERM, SOX, and external auditors to ensure appropriate audit coverage and avoid duplication of effort

  • Provide advisory input on new initiatives, system implementations, accounting policy changes, and acquisitions or dispositions, with a focus on technology and control impacts

  • Use AIenabled tools (including GenAI) responsibly to support research, evidence review, audit documentation, and risk assessment, applying appropriate professional judgment, validation, and data privacy safeguards

  • Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, regulatory developments, and leading practices relevant to IT audit and technology risk

Minimum Qualifications 

  • University degree or college diploma in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or a related field

  • Professional designation such as CISA, CISSP, or equivalent experience

  • 6+ years of progressive experience with exposure to IT auditing/IT risk across technology environments and cybersecurity, or operational IT experience with demonstrated risk capability

  • Handson experience with data analytics using tools such as Power BI, ACL/HighBond, SQL, Excel, or equivalent

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to nontechnical audiences

  • Proven organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver highquality work under tight timelines

  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a continuous improvement mindset and the ability to make effective decisions under pressure

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while building effective, collaborative relationships with audit clients

  • Demonstrated experience embracing change and identifying opportunities to improve audit processes, tools, or ways of working

  • Solid understanding of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) standards and risk-based audit methodologies

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience auditing ICS/SCADA, industrial environments, or operational technology controls

  • Experience auditing cloud environments and/or cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, COBIT, ISO)

  • Experience with audit management software (e.g., AuditBoard)

  • Spanish language proficiency is considered an asset
