About us

We’re a tight-knit team of creative, data-driven people, continuously building services & partnering with the world’s largest brands.

We value great work with talented, innovative & driven people, making meaningful connections with like-minded creatives along the way!

The Role

We’re hiring a hands-on IT Manager who is also an AI nerd — someone who gets excited about building intelligent systems, automating away manual work, and designing modern, secure infrastructure for a fully remote company.

This role blends IT ownership, cybersecurity leadership, and applied AI systems building. You’ll handle access and security day-to-day, but the real leverage comes from designing smarter workflows, AI-assisted ops, and security systems that scale across a global team.

If you read about AI agents, LLM workflows, RPA, or infra automation for fun, this role is probably for you.

What You’ll Own

AI-First IT & Automation

  • Design and build AI-assisted workflows for IT, access, security, and ops.

  • Use tools like Zapier, n8n, APIs, and LLMs to eliminate repetitive work.

  • Experiment with agents, automations, and monitoring systems that improve reliability and visibility.

  • Continuously look for ways AI can reduce cost, risk, and manual effort.

Core IT Operations (Hands-On)

  • Own access management across our stack (onboarding, offboarding, role changes).

  • Maintain clean permissions for a globally distributed, contractor-heavy team.

  • Handle day-to-day IT requests (mostly access; intentionally lightweight).

  • Be the internal escalation point for anything systems or security related.

Cybersecurity & Incident Response (Top Priority)

  • Architect and implement a modern security posture from a loose starting point.

  • Build real incident response playbooks (not theoretical ones).

  • Detect and shut down threats like impersonation, phishing, and domain abuse.

  • Guide us on zero-trust concepts, identity controls, and device expectations.

  • Support enterprise security questionnaires and client trust reviews.

  • Help us safely support healthcare recruiting & staffing workflows.

Compliance & Trust

  • Own GDPR compliance and data-handling standards.

  • Define security expectations for global contractors across ~20 countries.

  • Partner with leadership on future compliance needs (HIPAA-adjacent, enterprise-driven).

IT Strategy & Cost Control

  • Audit our current environment and design an optimized roadmap.

  • Own IT vendors, contracts, and seat management.

  • Use data and automation to track usage, waste, and spend.

  • Build systems that give leadership clear visibility into IT cost and risk.

Our Current Stack

  • Google Workspace

  • ClickUp

  • Notion

  • Webflow

  • Clockify

  • NordPass

  • Frame.io

  • Figma

  • Zapier

  • n8n

  • QuickBooks

  • PeopleForce

  • Ashby

  • Fathom

You’ll help decide what stays, what goes, and what gets automated.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong hands-on IT or systems background (remote-first experience preferred).

  • Deep curiosity and enthusiasm for AI, automation, and modern tooling.

  • Comfort scripting, working with APIs, and building real systems (not demos).

  • Solid understanding of identity, access, and security fundamentals.

  • Experience responding to real-world security issues (impersonation, phishing, abuse).

  • Ability to explain risk, tradeoffs, and systems clearly to non-technical leaders.

  • Bias toward building, testing, and improving systems continuously.

Bonus Points

  • You’ve built internal AI tools, agents, or automations.

  • Experience designing security from scratch.

  • Exposure to healthcare, staffing, or regulated environments.

  • You follow AI tooling closely and experiment outside of work.

Why This Role Is Different

  • You’re not inheriting a locked-down corporate IT stack — you get to design it

  • You’ll build real AI-powered systems that people actually use

  • Security, automation, and cost control are executive priorities

  • Clear path to grow into a small IT org lead over time

Benefits

  • Unlimited Time Off & Sick Days

  • Flexible hours

  • Fully remote (with the possibility to work from anywhere)

  • Global pods (meet creatives from all around the world)

  • High opportunity for growth!

What you need to know about the Calgary Tech Scene

Employees can spend up to one-third of their life at work, so choosing the right company is crucial, not just for the job itself but for the company culture as well. While startups often offer dynamic culture and growth opportunities, large corporations provide benefits like career development and networking, especially appealing to recent graduates. Fortunately, Calgary stands out as a hub for both, recognized as one of Startup Genome's Top 100 Emerging Ecosystems, while also playing host to a number of multinational enterprises. In Calgary, job seekers can find a wide range of opportunities.
