We provide world-class software solutions that prioritize client relationships and continuous innovation. As we expand, we’re eager to build an internal IT team that shares our passion for teamwork, growth, and excellence.

About the role

As the Senior IT Operations Lead, you will play a crucial role in both operational IT support and strategic decision-making for our internal technology infrastructure. This is an in-person role in our Sherwood Park, AB office.

Here's what you'll be doing:

  • Oversee vendor relationships, evaluate IT-related costs, and ensure cost-effective solutions for the business.
  • Provide strategic IT leadership at a holistic level, focusing on cybersecurity, SOC compliance, and long-term IT initiatives.
  • Familiar with cloud service models and cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and possess hands-on experience in managing or implementing cloud solutions.
  • Strong grasp of assurance principles - including compliance, risk management, and governance frameworks (e.g., SOC 2).
  • Balancing technical expertise with business insight to ensure cloud solutions align with security, compliance, and performance goals.
  • Handle escalated IT tickets, server setups, software updates, and ensure efficient daily IT operations.
  • Oversee software tools like Microsoft 365, Active Directory, SharePoint, and Sentinel One, ensuring proper patching and updates.
  • Support hardware and software purchasing decisions, in alignment with business goals and industry standards.
  • Lead and mentor junior IT team members, including hiring, training and development.

What you bring to the table:

  • Have strong IT management experience, particularly in server administration, cybersecurity, and handling escalated IT support tickets.
  • Have experience with remote backup solutions, server management, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Are familiar with cloud-based storage and backup solutions and can implement secure, centralized networks.
  • Can think strategically about IT infrastructure while remaining hands-on in day-to-day IT management.
  • Demonstrate leadership qualities, including experience mentoring junior IT team members and managing vendors.
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical team members, as well as external partners.
  • Are familiar with compliance frameworks like SOC and PCI DSS and have experience in maintaining these standards.

Bonus points if you have:

  • Knowledge of remote desktop software and can provide recommendations for improvements.
  • Experience leading cybersecurity training programs and ensuring company-wide cybersecurity compliance.
