About the team
The IT Program Management Office enables business outcomes by managing strategic and cross-functional projects & programs, primarily enabled by technology. The team is responsible for managing business outcomes (scope, risks, dependencies, milestones) & identifying and aligning to the best project management methodology to accomplish the desired outcome. We aim to support the best teaming experiences and motivate & empower our projects teams to deliver & innovate.
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our growing team! The Senior Project Manager facilitates efficient delivery of business outcomes within the Information Technology team at Rapid7. They provide timely and accurate decision support for prioritization, business and resourcing questions. They are custodians and evangelists of the "secret sauce" of how Rapid7 IT delivers value.
In this role, you will:

  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders (Project Planning)
  • Lead the execution of the project according to the project plan. Monitor project progress and make adjustments as needed to ensure successful completion. Ensure the project's deliverables meet the quality standards and specified requirements (Execution and Monitoring)
  • Allocate project resources appropriately and ensure they are used efficiently (Resource Management)
  • Develop and monitor the project budget, ensuring the project remains within financial constraints (Budget Management)
  • Identify potential risks and devise contingency plans to manage them effectively (Risk Management)
  • Maintain regular communication with all stakeholders, including team members, management, and external partners, to keep them informed of project progress and potential issues (Stakeholder Communication)
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including plans, reports, and budgets (Documentation)
  • Foster collaboration and accountability within project teams, ensuring alignment on project goals and technical standards. (Team Leadership)


The skills you will bring include:

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager, with 5+ years experience and a track record of successfully managing and delivering software development life cycle (SDLC) projects, ensuring timely delivery, risk mitigation, and alignment with business objectives
  • Strong proficiency in project management methodologies and project management software tools such as Smartsheet
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and driving stakeholder alignment
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and under pressure
  • Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • PMP, PgMP, or similar project/program management certification is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
