Our Calgary office is looking for a Risk Advisory Services Leader for the region of Calgary & Edmonton to join the Advisory team and own the following responsibilities:
 

  • Manage the Alberta-based risk advisory practice

  • Establish strong relationships with clients at all levels of experience, including leadership

  • Execute a project plan for complex engagements in close collaboration with partners

  • Actively develop business opportunities and contribute to business development and sales initiatives

  • Assist with the development of methodologies, tools and templates

  • Work closely with consultants and ensure mandate delivery to clients and act as a coach and mentor to team members in order to maximize their potential

  • Define resourcing needs and actively participate in hiring team resources

  • Take a leadership role in creating a working atmosphere that promotes learning and participate in group events and assist in the building of a team culture/environment

  • Lead the team in executing operational internal audit, IT audit, internal control assessments (SOX 404, NI 52-109), third-party assurance (SOC 1/SOC 2)

  • Provide value-added and relevant analysis of an organization’s internal control structure, performance, productivity and efficiency.

  • Lead and deliver on fraud risk assessments across various business processes.

  • Facilitate client workshops on various topics (including enterprise risk assessments).

  • Assess the governance and internal control environment for various clients and providing value-add observations and recommendations.

Your experience and education

  • Deep professional experience in internal audit, IT audit, risk management, and/or internal control assessments (SOX 404, NI 52-109), third-party assurance (SOC 1/SOC 2)

  • A CPA, CIA, or CISA designation

  • An ability to contribute to the effective planning of assignments

  • A proven ability to deliver quality service and to meet client expectations;

  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Candidate should be able to demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively clients and prospect staff at all levels of the organization;

  • Experience in anticipating and diagnosing problems that arise during projects, building and documenting solutions, drafting effective communications for clients, managing and coordinating projects.

  • Bilingualism is considered an asset to support the national team and serve our clients in other provinces & territories of Canada
