Position Overview
The Senior Marketing Manager, Shark will be responsible for developing and executing brand strategies that enhance the brand’s market position, drive growth, and increase brand loyalty in Canada. This role involves end-to-end management of brand initiatives, including planning, execution, and local commercialization. The Brand Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams, such as global leaders, marketing, product development, sales, and sales strategy to deliver a cohesive brand experience that aligns with business objectives and resonates with target audiences in the Canadian market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Brand Strategy Development: Develop and execute brand strategies that align with overall business goals and objectives. Identify opportunities for brand positioning and growth within the Canadian market while building on and localizing global playbook.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with sales, product development, SS&A, and other departments to ensure brand consistency across all touchpoints.
  • North American connectivity: Maintain productive relationships with US IMC and brand counterparts to ensure playbook consistency, and advocate for required localizations
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a brand ambassador within the organization and with external stakeholders, including agencies and retailers. Build relationships to enhance brand visibility and reputation.
  • Go-to-Market Execution/Local Commercialization: Oversee the execution of go-to-market plans ensuring that all new products are Canada-ready (including product packaging and online product pages). Partner with SS&A to define positioning, promotional efforts, and proper distribution channels. Ensure all brand and marketing activities align with local market dynamics.
  • Brand Performance Analysis: Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to brand health, sales performance, and customer engagement. Use data to make informed decisions and optimize future campaigns.
  • Coaching and development: Train and develop direct reports across all areas of the marketing spectrum. Provide regular feedback to ensure success and oversee performance management.
  • Campaign Management: Plan, implement, and oversee marketing campaigns, including digital, social media, and traditional advertising, to build brand awareness and drive sales. Collaborate with creative teams to ensure campaigns are consistent with the brand identity and messaging.
  • Market Analysis & Consumer Insights: Conduct research to understand market trends, competitor activities, and consumer behavior. Use insights to refine brand strategies and ensure alignment with consumer needs and preferences.
  • Budget Management: Develop and prioritize the brand marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to maximize ROI. Monitor expenditures and report on budget performance.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field. An MBA or advanced marketing certification is an asset.
  • Experience: Minimum 8 years of experience in brand management or product marketing, ideally with experience in the Canadian market. Experience in consumer/durable goods or lifestyle brands is highly desirable.
  • Technical Requirements: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, and familiarity with analytics and digital marketing platforms. Experience with project management and CRM tools is advantageous.
  • Skills:
  • Strong understanding of brand management, commercialization, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Ability to analyze market data and consumer insights to make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and product launches.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of presenting ideas clearly and persuasively to diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and build relationships with external partners and agencies.
  • Proactive and adaptable, with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Work Environment

  • Role required to be in-office (Mississauga, ON) 3 times per week.
  • Occasional travel (25%) may be required for meetings, conferences, and other business-related activities within Canada and internationally.
