Key Responsibilities
Process Engineering Support
- Develop and prepare process engineering deliverables, including process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), process descriptions, and engineering reports.
- Perform process engineering calculations, including material and energy balances, hydraulic calculations, equipment sizing, relief system evaluations, and utility assessments.
- Prepare and review process datasheets, equipment specifications, and other technical documentation.
- Evaluate process design alternatives and recommend practical, safe, and cost-effective engineering solutions.
- Execute process engineering activities across concept, FEED, detailed design, commissioning, and project closeout phases as required.
- Coordinate process engineering deliverables to meet project schedules, budgets, and quality objectives.
- Support engineering change management activities and resolve technical issues throughout the project lifecycle.
- Participate in technical reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure engineering designs comply with applicable industry codes, standards, regulatory requirements, and client specifications.
- Participate in process safety studies, including HAZID, HAZOP, and other risk assessments, and implement resulting actions where applicable.
- Support safe design practices by identifying and mitigating process-related risks throughout project execution.
- Maintain engineering documentation in accordance with company quality management procedures.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure coordinated and integrated project delivery.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and review their work for accuracy and quality.
- Interface with project managers, clients, vendors, and other stakeholders to support engineering execution and resolve technical queries.
- Participate in project meetings and provide process engineering expertise throughout project development.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 9+ years of relevant process engineering experience within the energy, oil & gas, or industrial sectors.
- Strong understanding of process engineering principles, equipment design, process simulation concepts, and engineering calculations.
- Experience developing and reviewing process engineering deliverables throughout multiple project phases.
- Working knowledge of applicable industry codes, standards, and engineering best practices.
- General proficiency with process engineering software and engineering design tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with attention to technical quality.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload, manage multiple assignments, and meet project deadlines.
- Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to junior engineering staff is considered an asset.
