About The Roll*
- Lead the design of end-to-end customer experiences for Toast hardware products, focused on topics like device setup, management, and troubleshooting
- Work as part of a cross-functional team of Product Designers, Industrial Designers, and User Researchers to deliver hardware experiences that are intuitive, efficient, and delightful
- Work closely with partners in Design, Product Management, and Engineering to identify and define user pain points, crafting innovative design solutions that improve workflows and drive measurable user outcomes
- Drive qualitative and quantitative user research and testing to inform design iterations and ensure good outcomes for users and the business
- Design within and help develop Toast guidelines, best practices, and standards
The right ingredients* (Requirements)
- 4+ years of professional experience in Product Design
- Well-developed skills in Figma, Miro, and other design collaboration tools
- Experience with designing workflows, making wireframes and mockups, building prototypes, and creating high-quality interface designs
- Deep awareness of user-centered design principles, usability, and accessibility standards
- Experience coordinating and conducting user research and usability testing to inform design decisions
- Experience managing complexity and working with cross-functional teams to drive decisions
- Ability to prioritize tasks and initiatives across multiple cross-functional stakeholder groups
- Solid storytelling and presentation skills
- Experience mentoring junior designers

The base salary range for this role is listed below. The starting salary will be determined based on skills and experience. In addition to base salary, our total rewards components include cash compensation (overtime, bonus/commissions if eligible), equity, and benefits.

$133,000—$213,000 USD
