What You'll Do
Lead the strategy, market assessment, and development of AI-driven applications, APIs, and analytics capabilities that expand Blackline Safety’s digital platform and create new, saleable product offerings.
This role is accountable for identifying high-value market opportunities, translating customer and partner needs into monetizable features and integrations, and guiding cross-functional teams through delivery—from opportunity assessment and business case development through launch and post-production performance.
You will own the product vision and roadmap for AI-enabled insights, customer-facing applications, and external APIs, as well as for turning internal analytics capabilities into revenue-generating products and identifying the most impactful ecosystem partnerships.
Lead development of new software, changes to hardware/firmware/software, and strategic initiatives using new and updated business use cases, while guiding an extended virtual team through key program milestones (from ideation and prioritization through post-production ‘customer’ usage).
You will define the product roadmap and make recommendations for the highest value capabilities of our products. You will work in collaboration with the SOC, Customer Care, Sales and product marketing to understand what customer problems Blackline Safety can solve with our solutions.
You will use a data-driven understanding of how your ‘customers’ use our products and identify opportunities to better support them. You will partner with engineering, design, marketing, and fellow teams to deliver a cohesive experience across devices and platforms.
You'll be responsible for identifying and tracking key performance indicators, including adhering to a build schedule. You will need to be organized, with a passion for user experiences and enabling new connected worker and connected safety capabilities to our product lines.
Key Responsibilities
- Own market discovery and assessment for AI, apps, APIs, and analytics opportunities.
- Define and launch saleable analytics and AI-driven product offerings.
- Identify, assess, and prioritize high-impact API integration and ecosystem partnerships.
- Develop business cases and monetization strategies for platform and analytics capabilities.
- Establish the competitive set of proposed new roadmap capabilities to solve unmet needs, or create durable competitive advantage against our competition (using our 1-pager approach as your starting point)
- Be the primary driver for identifying and driving product vision, strategies, and roadmaps in the context of broader organizational strategies and goals
- Drive customer value by identifying and prioritizing highest impact capabilities
- Identify upcoming user and market needs, then work with the team to develop a product plan that addresses them
- Define a practical, yet aggressive set of requirements for each [block] release based on roadmap, user requirements, technical architecture, and business needs
- Deliver business cases (financial and otherwise) advocating for appropriate additional investment to grow your Service
- Serve as a subject matter expert in all things including a solid understanding of the underlying systems and services that power the experience/Service
- Identify key input and output metrics which will inform how you measure and monitor your Services’ performance
- Write capability & feature specifications, and maintain a prioritized backlog that aligns with the roadmap
- Manage end-to-end delivery of your roadmap resulting in measurable improvements to the experience and bottom line
About You
- 5-7 years of Product experience
- 3-5 years of experience with one or more types of operations centers
- Willingness to learn, follow/improve processes, and continuously make tough prioritization decisions
- Experience delivering AI, analytics, API, or platform-based products.
- Strong understanding of API strategies, integrations, and ecosystem-led growth.
- Demonstrated ability to translate market insights into revenue-generating product offerings
