The Team: 

Upstart's Finance team is focused on timely and accurate processing, analyzing, and reporting transactional data and financial results to inform both internal business decision-making at Upstart and to satisfy external contractual and regulatory requirements. This work ensures the financial health of the company and enables Upstart to make progress on its long-term mission of expanding access to credit.

We are looking for a  Senior Product Manager, Financial Operations to support our business partners from various parts of the Finance organization , including but not limited to  Accounting, Treasury, and Investor Operations, optimize internal processes, improve data accuracy and availability, and enhance internal financial systems to unlock smarter and more strategic financial planning. In this role you will be responsible for KPIs and strategy, as well as execution. You will own prioritization, definition, and delivery of important features that affect all parts of the Financial Operations  business team and investor and  experience.


How you’ll make an impact

  • You’ll collaborate on  the vision and strategy for our automated accounting and reporting  service to quickly and accurately generate, validate, and process financial data.
  • You’ll create the tools that empower business partners  to scale their work, which will lead to a higher-quality accounting close process, balance sheet management,  and internal and external financial reporting.
  • You’ll work closely with our Finance teams to address business and product changes to  identify and prioritize new and valuable tool and process improvements.
  • You’ll launch features on a regular basis in conjunction with the engineering team.


Minimum Qualifications 

  • 5-10 years experience in a product management role with demonstrated success leading an engineering  team to deliver critical initiatives. 
  • Familiarity with financial transaction processing and financial operations.
  • Ability to build relationships and effectively collaborate with all levels of the organization, from C-level to individual contributors.
  • Ability to manage and influence through persuasion, negotiation, and consensus building.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to achieve strategic goals in an innovative and fast-paced environment, and to evolve product strategy based on research, data and industry trends; excellent problem-solving, organizational and analytical skills
  • Experience with product management and software development using an Agile development methodology
  • Strong familiarity with capital markets and investment banking.


Position location This role is available in the following locations: Remote

Time zone requirements The team operates on the East/West coast time zones.

Travel requirements As a digital first company, the majority of your work can be accomplished remotely. The majority of our employees can live and work anywhere in the U.S but are encouraged to to still spend high quality time in-person collaborating via regular onsites. The in-person sessions’ cadence varies depending on the team and role; most teams meet once or twice per

At Upstart, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package.  The anticipated base salary for this position is expected to be within the below range. Your actual base pay will depend on your geographic location–with our “digital first” philosophy, Upstart uses compensation regions that vary depending on location. Individual pay is also determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

In addition, Upstart provides employees with target bonuses, equity compensation, and generous benefits packages (including medical, dental, vision, and 401k).

$162,100$224,500 USD
