Who we are

At Fortis Games we aspire to make great games that bring people together while redefining how game companies work. We believe in building a sense of belonging through our games, their communities, and how we operate and treat each other. Through our game communities, we will create powerful connections and lasting memories. We will foster a culture of diversity, equity and belonging where together our diverse skills, experiences and backgrounds impact the games we make.

We are an early but mighty organization with a leadership team of game industry veterans. There are many opportunities for you to have a big impact on the products we'll be making as well as the overall direction of the company. If you're passionate about tackling difficult problems with direct and thoughtful communication and team first mentality, we may be the right place for you.

About the role

Fortis is looking for a highly motivated Senior Technical Project Manager to join our Central Platform team. The immediate area of responsibility would be owning the Platform Experience; however, as you grow into the role and prove to have additional capacity, there will be opportunities to drive additional initiatives. Platform Experience is about the process of how the Platform team supports our game and publishing teams in building and managing our games.

What you'll achieve

  • You will be the central source of information about areas of collaboration and dependencies between the Platform team and all of our game development teams. You will facilitate regular tracking syncs where you inform stakeholders of dependency status, take action items and ensure that partnership between the Platform team and its customers is healthy and productive.
  • You will maintain proper documentation in slide decks and project management tools to ensure stakeholders have visibility into the status of their projects.
  • You will work with Platform engineering leadership, product management, and design teams and game/partner teams to balance a set of commitments with predictable execution.
  • You will facilitate tough trade-offs along the way, take care of and tackle any team conflicts and be tactical enough to know when to roll up your sleeves. You should proactively spot areas for improvement, then energetically drive those improvements all the while encouraging a feeling of teamwork and common purpose within the team.
  • You will anticipate challenges, proactively analyze risk by tracking and monitoring project progress and resource availability, and course correct as needed on the fly.
  • As our main partner collaboration advocate, you will proactively evolve the way the Platform team partners with customer teams, improving our customer support processes, documentation, and drive awareness of new and upcoming Platform features ad initiatives. In doing so, you will identify process gaps and support the creation of repeatable processes while improving existing project management and collaboration processes.

What you’ll need to be successful

  • Previous program/project management experience
  • Experience leading technology agile scrum teams is a big plus but either way you must be comfortable working in an agile setting.
  • Very comfortable working with project management tools such as Jira, ClickUp, Smartsheet (or similar)
  • Effective driving outcomes working in a fully remote environment, leveraging tools such as slide decks, Miro, and project management tools to facilitate collaboration process with customer / partner teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with maturity and leadership.
  • Ability to navigate complex scenarios with customers through the use of tact, conflict resolution, and bargaining skills.
  • Data analytical skills to track project progress and team performance.
  • Ability to lead under ambiguity, balancing multiple work-streams and priorities.

Why join us
