LOCATION: The preferred candidate should be based in Santiago, Chile.


THE ROLE:

Then you may be ready to take on the overall responsibility of a Senior QA Automation Engineer at Apply Digital.


As a Senior QA Automation Engineer within Apply Digital, you will help contribute to the overall company strategy by validating that the application meets design specifications and requirements. This includes iOS applications, Android applications, Web applications, Voice Recognition, AR, IoT, and other digital-to-human interfaces. The products should be tested for functionality, performance, reliability, stability, and compatibility with the supported devices, browsers, and user interfaces.

ABOUT YOU:

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent
  • You have 6+ years of experience in Automation roles. 
  • You have a deep understanding of software QA methodologies, best practices, tools, and processes
  • You have 3+ years of experience with Javascript, Typescript or a similar scripting language
  • You have 3+ years of experience creating and maintaining test automation scripts (preferably with Cypress, Playwright, and Appium using Javascript)
  • You strongly understand CI/CD platforms and incorporate QA best practices.
  • You have a deep understanding of Agile/Scrum development principles.
  • You have experience providing mentorship to other team members on QA best practices and methodologies.
  • You possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • You’re self-driven and take ownership of tasks from beginning to completion 
  • You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • You can multi-task and work on multiple projects simultaneously within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • You are detail-oriented, incredibly meticulous, and you enjoy the fine attention to detail required to spot, prevent, and troubleshoot any issues before our clients find them

ABOUT THE JOB:

  • Test Strategy and Planning: Leading the creation of test strategies and plans for complex projects, considering the project scope, objectives, and risks. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define test approach, test coverage, and test deliverables.
  • Test Execution and Coverage: Conducting comprehensive and thorough test execution (automated and manual) for complex software systems. Identifying high-priority test scenarios and ensuring effective test coverage across functional, non-functional, and edge-case scenarios.
  • Test Automation Architecture and Development: Leading the design and implementation of scalable and maintainable test automation frameworks. Collaborating with development teams to promote automation practices, maximize test coverage, and improve overall efficiency. Incorporating test automation into CI/CD pipelines. 
  • Test Leadership: Taking ownership of the testing process and providing technical leadership to the QA team. Mentoring and guiding junior and intermediate QA engineers, fostering their growth and development in software quality assurance.
  • Test Environment Management: Overseeing the setup, configuration, and management of test environments. Ensuring the availability of properly configured hardware, software, network, and databases to support testing efforts.
  • Test Metrics and Reporting: Defining and monitoring key test metrics and KPIs to measure the effectiveness of testing activities. Providing detailed test reports, including analysis of test results, defect trends, and coverage metrics, to stakeholders and project teams.
  • Test Process Optimization: Continuous evaluation and enhancement of the test process to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and overall quality. Implementing new methodologies, tools, and best practices to streamline testing efforts and achieve higher productivity.
  • Risk-Based Testing: Applying risk-based testing principles to prioritize and allocate resources effectively. Identifying critical areas and potential risks in software systems, and tailoring testing activities accordingly.
  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and project managers, to ensure proper alignment of testing activities with project objectives. Managing stakeholder expectations and providing regular updates on the status of testing efforts.
  • Quality Advocacy: Advocating for a strong quality culture within the organization and ensuring adherence to established quality standards and methodologies. Participating in quality governance forums and driving initiatives to continuously improve software quality practices.
