Role Summary:
As a Senior QA Engineer, you will support in the development, implementation and running of quality control programs and procedures. This position involves the translation of customer specifications and industry standards into product / process criteria and creating control plans to achieve those requirements. You’ll also address the day-to-day issues with production quality within the manufacturing plant, at customer sites and supplier facilities.

Travel requirement: 50%

This position can be located at our Leduc or Edmonton sites in Canada, or Baton Rouge in USA.
Responsibilities:

  • 50% of the time will be supporting day-to-day activities at shopfloor and office processes, working with customer, other engineers, production floor staff, and suppliers to resolve issues.
  • Support to document any issues in the production process and develop ways to fix them, creating quality documentation/ controls.
  • Ensure compliance with standards, identify issues and recommend solutions.
  • Perform process audit to verify that processes are working within established limits. It evaluates an operation or method against predetermined instructions or standards to measure conformance to these standards and the effectiveness of the instructions.
  • Assist in Quality-related training of employees. 
  • Quality Improvement Projects: Leading projects to enhance product quality and production efficiency.
  • Work with suppliers and contract manufacturers to ensure processes are capable and have sufficient controls in place to meet Flowserve quality requirements
  • Manage Customer Escapes and driving RCA, CA and PA
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • +5 years of experience in Quality Assurance working in a multinational manufacturing company (preferent Internal ISO auditor certified)
  • Experience in engineering and utilization of Lean and Six Sigma tools and methodologies
  • Understanding of product / process flow
  • +3 years of experience managing Customer Escapes, and using 5 Whys, 8 Ds, A3s.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Experience / Skills:

  • BS or BA Degree in relevant field
  • Preference Six Sigma Green Belt certified or Lean Practitioner Certified
  • Experience in SAP S/4HANA
