THE ROLE:
We’re expanding our Technical Services team and have an incredible opportunity for a Senior Reliability Engineer, located in Calgary, AB. In this strategic role, you will foster consistent strategies for operations and maintenance across all assets. Your expertise will be pivotal in supporting Maintenance, Production Operations and Development mature towards more asset management and reliability focused business practices. This role will work directly with our subject matter experts in Rotating, Electrical and Instrumentation as we adopt an Asset Management (AM) focus – in tailored alignment with PETRONAS Global AM Strategy – for our gas compression and processing facilities, including over 400,000 hp of total rotating equipment, located in NE British Columbia.
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:
- The Sr. RE will own/steward the Reliability Management Program, including six modules:
- Equipment Criticality Assessment (ECA)
- Equipment Reliability Strategy (ERS)
- Bad Actor Management (BAM)
- Root Cause [Failure] Analysis (RCFA or RCA)
- Reliability Engineering Analysis (REA) incl FMEA as warranted
- Reliability Performance Monitoring (RPM)
- Responsible for developing and sustaining a structured AM program, including equipment monitoring and reporting, with progression towards predictive and condition based maintenance
- Lead the integration of High Reliability Organization (HRO) principles into operational practices, fostering a culture of reliability, safety, and continuous improvement. Drive initiatives to improve organizational resilience to failure, reduce operational risks, improve uptime and enhance the safety culture.
- Drive reliability focused data collection, analysis and reporting; Use KPIs to determine/define actions for continuous improvement in how we operate and maintain our assets
- Chair regular meetings to collaborate with and align SMEs, Operations and Maintenance staff on current actions status and future actions to improve safety and reliability
- Ownership of associated governance documents, including assessment and tailoring of PETRONAS Global documents for local adoption; and creation of new governance
- Mentor, train and guide staff in reliability techniques, strategies and governance; fostering the maturation of the organization in the asset management & reliability space
WHAT YOU BRING:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or similar discipline; certification such as Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) or similar is an asset
- Minimum of 10 years in reliability engineering & asset management in the oil and gas or similar industry
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate
- Strong knowledge of asset management frameworks and HRO principles.
- Experience in BAM, RCFA, RCM, FMEA, ECA
- Familiarity with natural gas operations and associated major equipment: compressors, IC engines, gas turbines, generators, MV electrical motors, instrumentation, etc. would be an asset
- Independent work ethic and driven self-starter for new initiatives
