Position Summary:

The Retail Technical Sales team is looking for a Senior Sales Engineer to join us and help us grow our ever-growing list of Retail partners spanning grocery, convenience and beyond. You are a Senior Sales Engineer who comfortably bridges retail technology, advertising, and SaaS technology, and has extensive experience selling to and solutioning with Retailers of all sizes. This role requires a motivated self-starter with strong people, process, and technical skills.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Supporting the Retail Acquisition team’s sales process as the product specialist and expert on how a retailer’s suite of technologies can integrate with our platform
  • Client Engagement: Lead live demonstrations of Swiftly’s technology to showcase its capabilities, addressing client needs and answer technical questions
  • Technical Discovery: Examine retailers’ apps and web sites to understand which technologies they use. Run meetings to dive deeper into a retailer’s backend systems and examine sample data
  • Technical Expertise: Offer deep technical knowledge and thought leadership throughout the sales cycle to answer product questions and provide insights on how our technology fits within retailer environments.
  • Solution Customization: Provide insight and input to customize Swiftly solutions based on specific retailer needs, helping to drive product innovation and improvements based on client feedback
  • Business Modeling: Run and adapt business proposal outputs (ex: ROAS, rev-share, sales lift etc.) based on retailer specific inputs gathered during the discovery phase
  • Project Handoff: Work closely with the retailer delivery team to ensure proper translation of scope, technical details, and project specifics from sales to delivery. Ensure seamless transition from sales to implementation
  • Collaboration with Product Teams: Partner with product teams to stay up to date with the latest platform features, ensuring technical competence during client engagements and demos. Identify new platform functionality required to implement a retailer’s solution and work with the platform product team to scope the functionality that will be added to the platform
  • Regularly engage with our Product and Engineering teams to provide feedback and identify opportunities and trends to further improve the Retail Platform
  • Use your platform and technical knowledge to best position Swiftly offerings for (retailer) RFIs and RFPs
  • Support Swiftly’s Channel Partner enablement
  • Other duties as assigned 

Required Experience:

  • B.S. degree in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent
  • Minimum of 7+ years experience as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Consultant or Technical Sales engineer in a client-facing sales support role
  • Strong understanding of retail technology solutions such as coupon, loyalty, and ecommerce platforms, with the ability to translate complex technical details into easy-to-understand terms for clients
  • Extensive experience with North American Retailers
  • Proven ability to lead technical discovery sessions, design solutions, and present live product demonstrations
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate across teams
  • Enterprise selling experience including enablement, building platform solutions, and general sales support
  • Product experience: act as a funnel for solution product requirements for the Swiftly Product team
  • Proven ability to work successfully in a high-energy startup

Preferred Experience:

  • Consulting / Professional Services background
  • Project Delivery experience
